① Tea-horse trade originated in the Tang and Song Dynasties, which is a traditional trade centered on exchanging tea for horses or horses for tea between Han and Tibetan nationalities in the history of western China. Tea-horse trade is the main form of commercial trade between ancient Central Plains and northwest minority areas. In fact, it was a financial measure implemented by the imperial court in areas where nomadic people in the west did not have the conditions for taxation. Tang Xianzu, a writer in the Ming Dynasty, wrote in the poem Tea Horse: "Black tea is beautiful, but Ma Qiang is different." "Ma Qiang and yellow tea, flax asks for golden beads." It shows the prosperity of the tea-horse trading market at that time.

No matter how far the journey is, the caravan should come step by step. On the road, I have to get up early every day, make a fire to cook, tear down tents and take care of mules and horses. The work is extremely heavy. In addition, the caravan needs to know the seasons and weather changes, be able to distinguish directions and roads, be familiar with multi-ethnic languages, know the temperament of mules and horses, and know all kinds of skills needed by the caravan, such as counting goods, shooting and fighting, cooking with accounts, cutting wood and making fires, identifying wild vegetables and fruits, carrying and leaving, nailing and repairing palms, finding grass and feeding, and even treating people and animals.

(3) The caravan is a commercial operation group, composed of all kinds of people, and it has to deal with all kinds of people. In order to survive, but also for business needs, when people encounter things, it is best to be tolerant and harmonious, while fighting for roads, grasslands and customers' goods will only lose both sides. Therefore, caravans pay special attention to credibility, tolerance, affinity, cooperation and mutual assistance.

(4) The interests of the caravan are closely related to the rise and fall of the country and the nation. Before liberation, many caravans in southwest China went abroad to do business in some countries and regions in Southeast Asia and South Asia. When dealing with foreign businessmen, imperialists and colonialists, they often suffer passively from tariffs, exchange rates and commodity prices because of the weakness of their own country and nation. Therefore, in order to survive and develop, the caravan must rely on the country and attach importance to the people, which has created the caravan's feelings of home and country. When War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression broke out, many horsemen actively threw whips to join the army and became soldiers to defend their country, because they not only had strict rules and regulations and discipline at ordinary times, but also everyone knew how to fight with guns and was familiar with the terrain and roads. Some of them worked harder on the ancient tea-horse road and made great contributions to the material transportation and supply in the rear area of the Anti-Japanese War.
