Is it better to use glass tableware or ceramic tableware?

Nowadays, microwave ovens have entered thousands of households and become necessary kitchen helpers, bringing great convenience to our lives. However, in practice, many people are not very clear or misunderstood about many related issues. Which ingredients are suitable for microwave cooking? When cooking in a microwave oven, what material is the safest tableware?

Dong Jinshi, vice president and secretary general of the International Food Packaging Association, pointed out in an interview that any material has a certain range of safe use, and containers that can hold food at room temperature may not be used in microwave ovens at high temperatures.

When cooking in a microwave oven, tableware should be used reasonably according to the characteristics of different materials, preferably glass or white ceramic containers.

The material of the glass itself comes from nature, and the harmful substances have volatilized after high temperature in the production process, so the glass has high safety, high temperature resistance and good thermal conductivity, and is suitable for microwave cooking.

Ceramic containers have a wide range of uses, such as acid resistance, alkali resistance, oil resistance, high temperature resistance, low temperature resistance and high safety, and can be used for microwave cooking.

However, it should be noted that the paint on colored ceramic containers may contain harmful substances such as lead and cadmium. Ceramic products are divided into three types according to their different decoration methods: over-glaze color, under-glaze color and in-glaze color.

The underglaze color and the underglaze color are both painted under the enamel color, and the painted color does not directly touch the food, so it is relatively safe.

On the other hand, glazed ceramics are painted on the surface of ceramics and are in direct contact with food. Harmful substances such as lead and cadmium will enter food and enter the human body with food.

If consumers can't clearly judge the glaze color type of ceramic tableware, for safety reasons, it is best to choose a ceramic container with a white achromatic color pattern on the inside of the container.
