On the morning of May 8, 2009, the first staff sports meeting of Reclamation Development Company kicked off in Xinken Middle School, amid the majestic March of athletes. After the orderly entrance ceremony of athletes from various departments and subordinate companies, Ni Shengzhi, secretary of the Party Committee of the company, delivered a warm speech at the opening ceremony.

In order to improve the participation and interest of the workers' sports meeting, the company leaders set up four events for the workers' sports meeting: men's 100-meter run, women's 100-meter run, mixed tug-of-war, mixed football match and 400-meter fitness run.

Although the weather was hot on the day of the event, the interest of the participating athletes was not affected at all.
