Baicao Garden is behind Lu Xun's former residence, covering an area of nearly 2,000 square meters. This used to be the vegetable garden of more than a dozen families named Zhou in Xintaimen. Usually, some melons and vegetables are planted in autumn to dry the grain.

This is the paradise of Lu Xun's childhood. He often comes to play, tastes mulberries and raspberries, catches crickets and weeds in low mud walls, enjoys the cool in the garden in summer and catches birds in the snow in winter.

After the property rights of Baicao Garden and Zhoujiaxintaimen changed hands, the north and south ends of the garden changed their appearance, but the main parts remained basically unchanged.

Laotaimen covers an area of 3087 square meters, with blue tiles and white walls, brick and wood structure, and is a feudal scholar-bureaucrat residence.
