Saipan tourism
Saipan is known as the first diving place in the world because of its changeable terrain and ultra-transparent seawater. Besides snorkeling and diving, you can also choose fishing, surfing, helicopter, sailing, jungle adventure, submarine and water skydiving. In addition, Saipan has four world-class golf courses and two small golf courses, all of which combine the tropical beauty of Saipan and have a superior environment. It is a challenging venue for golfers, suitable for golfers of different levels.
Romantic tourists can try Saipan's famous sunset dinner, take a cruise at sunset and enjoy Saipan cuisine in the sunset of Saipan. Visitors who like lively activities may wish to go to the super water park. 15 minutes to swim in Hechi, exciting surf pool, artificial waves and other quite enjoyable water sports facilities, as well as interesting water aerobics, water volleyball and other water playing actions.
There are also various sightseeing spots, such as warship island, Long Live Cliff where the Japanese army threw themselves into the sea, the cliff where they killed themselves, and the last headquarters of the Japanese army, all of which are historical attractions and worth seeing. Saipan, with its unique tourism resources such as "Four Seasons in Summer", "Seven Colors of Sea Water", "American Island", "Four-hour direct flight", "visa-free entry" and "duty-free shopping", has sprung up among many island destinations in China and become a favorite holiday paradise for China tourists. Warship Island, with a circumference of only 1.5km, is a representative diving spot for viewing sunken ships and airplanes. It was named after the wreckage of Japanese warships and fighter planes in the Pacific War. It only takes about 20 to 30 minutes to go around the island. The island is surrounded by white beaches, which are also formed by the erosion and grinding of corals. The island is covered with thick green tropical plants, and entering the center of the island feels like an isolated small universe. This place seems to be specially prepared for couples. If you want to disappear from the crowd with your lover one day and enjoy the sweet two-person world alone, this island is the most suitable, so the warship island is also called lover island. For honeymoon couples, this is of course an excellent place to brew their feelings. The nearby waters are coral reefs, and colorful tropical fish can be seen swimming in the clear water. The whole island is surrounded by silvery white beaches, and the seawater covered with coral reefs is refracted by sunlight, changing into fantastic colors.
Bird Island, located in the northern part of Saipan, is made of limestone, so it is named after many birds. Although the island is small, it provides sufficient living space for birds. There are hundreds of species of birds living on the island. At high tide, Bird Island is like an island at sea. At low tide, it is connected with this island, and the whole island is under the sunshine. Passengers can come here to watch birds at low tide and watch the lovely appearance of seabirds up close. There is also a bird-watching telescope on the island, which can be used for 2 minutes for $0.50. Through the telescope, you can see the birds on the island are happy and comfortable.
Located in the northeast corner of Saipan, Blue Cave is a natural cave connected with the Pacific Ocean. It was rated as the second cave diving spot in the world by Diver magazine, and divers can often be seen practicing launching here. The geology of the northeast corner is limestone formed by coral reefs. The most amazing thing about the blue cave is that limestone has been eroded and collapsed by seawater for a long time, forming a deep cave with a water depth of 17m, and the deepest part is 47m. There are three waterways connecting the blue cave with the open sea, and light enters the cave from the open sea through the waterways. The blue cave pool can reveal a light blue luster and is quite beautiful.
Outside the blue cave looks like a dolphin with its mouth open, and inside it is a huge stalactite cave, which is a natural cave formed by seawater erosion. Because the shadow projection of rocks attracts more underwater creatures, all kinds of colorful tropical fish, turtles, devil fish, dolphins, jellyfish, sea urchins ... The underwater world is more exciting than the land. There are two natural swimming pools in the Blue Cave, which are connected with the outside ocean through submarine passages. This will be an unparalleled experience for those experienced deep-sea divers.
The last command post of the Japanese army is located at the northern end of Saipan, also known as Barnadillo. During World War II, the Japanese army headquarters was located in a cave under the cliff. After all, the Japanese army, which has exhausted all its resources, can't resist the American attack at all. The commander-in-chief of the Japanese army committed suicide here, causing heavy casualties on both sides. There are also tanks, cannons and war fortresses formed by natural limestone left over from World War II. It used to be the underground warehouse of atomic bombs, and the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan during World War II were loaded from here. Although the site is already a small park in full of green, you can still see the remains of bunkers and chariots on the rock wall.
American Memorial Park is located near Hyatt Regency Hotel. In order to commemorate the 5,000 victims of the Mariana Battle in World War II, and to engrave the names of the victims on the monument for people to see, the American military flag, including the flag of the US Army, Navy and Air Force, is hung in the park 24 hours a day. The park covers an area of 1.33 hectares, with lush lawns, tennis courts, beach picnic areas and a coastal jogging track of 1.5 kilometers long. There is also a museum commemorating World War II in the park, which contains military weapons, uniforms and some documentary photos.
Viva Cliff is the northernmost cliff in Saipan. 1944 American troops attacked Mariana.
At the Japanese base on the island, the Japanese retreated to the northern end of Saipan. In order to escape the fate of being captured, the extreme Japanese occupation forces men, women and children to shout long live and jump off the cliff, hence the name "Long live the cliff". Later, I set up a statue of Guanyin as a comfort tower beside the Long Live Cliff, and also set up a hypocritical peace monument at the highest point of the cliff. Every year, many Japanese people go to these two places to mourn and worship and comfort the souls of the deceased. There are about 1 ten thousand tourists from Japan every year on the island, and a large number of Japanese tourists here are also closely related to these allusions. The journey takes about 45 minutes and the depth is about18-30m. Only a short time in a year is suitable for diving here. The biggest feature of this diving spot is the steep cliff terrain.
Blowhole is located at the southeast end of Tianning Island and is listed as one of the five wonders of the world. The so-called surf coast is that there are some irregular caves under the rocks formed by volcanic lava. At high tide, these caves will spray water like whales. The most spectacular moment is when the height of the water jet reaches almost 20 feet, everyone will be shocked by the water column ejected in front of them! Walking through the original karst rocks with potholes and green plants, you can see endless seawater. Near the shore, there is a colorful pool. After millions of years of wave impact, a whole row of caves has been formed, and sometimes the tide will gush out of the caves, just like the sea sneezing. When the wind and waves are strong, the height of the tide can reach 20 feet, which is quite spectacular After the water is ejected from the spray hole, it slowly returns and disappears. If you are lucky, you can also see the rainbow changing in the space between the sea and the sky, which is very beautiful. You can hear the rumble of the water spout in the distance. When you are near the gushing coast, you can listen with your ears open, which is also a kind of enjoyment!
Forbidden Island is located in the southeast of Saipan. The forbidden islands are semi-outlying islands: the forbidden islands and Saipan at high tide.
The islands are separated, and there are still departments connected at low tide. Due to the special geographical location of Forbidden Island, there are few traces of human beings on the island, and the beach is covered with all kinds of shells and corals washed up by the sea. In ancient times, whenever it didn't rain for a period of time, the indigenous people at that time would choose a suitable strong man, take him to the forbidden island, cut off his head, and then throw him into the sea to pray for rain.
Taga House, located in the southern part of Tianning Island, is a 3,500-year-old stone house of Taga nationality. It is said that it was equivalent to the chief's palace. At that time, the stone used to build a house was called lati stone, which was 6 meters high. How to carry these heavy stones is still a mystery. Taga's house is supported by twelve pillars, and now there is only one left. When European explorers discovered this relic, they were all amazed by this huge stone pillar and the huge stones standing on it, and were deeply impressed by the rigidity and strength of the ancient Chamorro people and their craftsmanship.
Mount Carmel Cathedral on Beach Road was built during Spanish rule and was destroyed in World War II. The white building we see now was rebuilt later. In addition to its gorgeous appearance, the garden of the church is full of colorful flowers, which is pleasing to the eye.
The Peace Monument Park is located on the other side of the suicide cliff. It is used to commemorate and mourn the casualties in the battle, hoping that the world can remember the lessons of the war and pray for world peace. The cross and Guanyin statue are erected in the center of the square, from which you can see the beautiful scenery in the northern part of Saipan.
Suger King Park: Saipan was once the third sugar kingdom in the world. It was invented by a Japanese named Songjiang, Ji Chun, and is called "Sugar King". In memory of him, this park was established in A.D. 1934. There are bronze statues and shrines of him in the park, and all kinds of beautiful flowers are planted. It looks like a small botanical garden. Take a photo with the brown sugar steam train.
Miquelo Beach is surrounded by the west coast of Saipan. White and soft beaches and quiet and peaceful environment are good places for leisurely walks. Dozens of beach canvas chairs are full of sunbathing tourists, and there are an endless stream of water surfers playing windsurfing, water skiing and snorkeling. It is also one of the best places to watch the sunset. Chinese and Japanese food are very popular in the local area. Among them, the Sichuan cuisine of Chinese food is authentic, and the local fresh seafood is also very good.
Local fruits can be picked directly from trees (as long as they are in public places, they cannot enter the yards of local residents), among which coconuts and mangoes are easier to pick.
Chamorro cuisine is the most distinctive food on the island, as well as roast suckling pig, sashimi, Redmi, shrimp with coconut juice, barbecue and cocoa coconut jiaozi, all of which are low-calorie foods. Visitors can choose various types of hotels according to their own preferences.
It is suggested to choose a hotel facing the sea. Visitors can choose the way of "staying indoors" and enjoy another kind of fun. After breakfast in the seaside restaurant in the morning, you can play on your own beach and experience a relaxing SPA at the seaside when you are tired. At sunset, sitting lazily on the beach watching the sunset, a leisurely seaside style. In the evening, you can barbecue on the beach and enjoy the dance performance of the local indigenous Chamorro people. In fact, there are not a few vacationers who choose to spend a lazy day in the hotel like this.
