Shantou Waisha Airport (ICAO: ZGOW;; IATA:SWA), located in the northeast of Shantou City, located in longhu district, Shantou City, Guangdong Province, with a distance of 1 1.4km from the downtown of Shantou. The airport has a 4D class and a runway of 2500m, which can take off and land medium-sized aircraft such as B757 and A320.

In July, 1986, Shantou Airport was expanded according to the national 4D airport standard. The main runway was extended from1800m to 2,500m, and the apron area was expanded from 8,000m2 to 24,000m2. The expanded airport can accommodate Boeing 757, McDonnell Douglas 82 and other large and medium-sized passenger planes to take off and land, reaching the national second-class airport standard.

The earliest airport in Shantou was a military airport built by 1956. After the establishment of Shantou Station dedicated to civil aviation built by 1974, the airport was transformed into a dual-use airport, namely Shantou Waisha Airport.
