The origin of Sun Shi

Sun's surname comes from three sources. The earliest one came from the royal family of the Western Zhou Dynasty. According to Yuan He Shi Bian and Tong Zhi Shi Lue, Sun is a surname with a Chinese character. The eighth son, first sealed in Kang, then moved to Wei, known as Wei Kangshu in history. His eighth grandson, Wu Gong, gave birth to Sun Hui, the grandson of Sun Hui, Wuzhong. In memory of his grandfather, he took his grandfather's word as his surname, namely Sun Shi. This is the earliest source of Sun's surname. Another branch of Sun's surname comes from Chu after Sun Shuai. At the beginning of the Spring and Autumn Period, the king of Chu had a son named Zhang, who gave birth to Sun Jia Jaber and his great grandson, Sun Shuaio. Uncle Ao, Lou's real name is Ao, the word Sun Shu, and the word Ai Lie, which is called Sun Shuai 'ao in history. When Sun Shuai was appointed as Lingyin of Chu State, he made outstanding achievements. In order to commemorate him, later generations took the word "Sun" in his Sun Shu as their surname. The third source of Sun's surname is Chen Zhongjing of Qi State. Chen, his son, fled to Qi and changed his surname to Tian. His fourth grandson, Qi's second son, wrote a book called Zi Zhan, and served as Qi's doctor. Because of his great contribution to the crusade against Ju 'an, Qi Jinggong named him Sun Shi and took Le 'an (now Shandong Huimin) as his food city. After that, his descendants took Sun Shi as their surname.
