This film festival * * * has 88 feature films and 100 short films from more than 30 countries and regions around the world. Among them, 33 feature films and short films from China were shown on the platform of panoramic China, which was warmly welcomed by the audience. In China's films, Jackie Chan's Race Against Time, starring Yang Mi and Wallace Huo, became a big winner and won the Remy Award for Best Film in the Film Festival, while Yang Mi won the Remy Award for Best Actress for her outstanding performance.

The film Song for Happiness, directed by Yu Xiaoyang, the famous director of the sixth generation in China, and adapted from the award-winning novel Our Humble Soul by the writer Xiong, won the Silver Remy Award at this Houston Film Festival. The film revolves around a newspaper delivery man named Ma Fu who lives in a big city. The son's simulation gun triggered a series of chain reactions, and human life and spirit split in a seemingly absurd story. It depicts the normal life of a group of small people who also live on the edge of the city, and keenly captures and reflects the influence of the changes of the times on people's soul world.
