Introduction to Nan'ao Island

Nanao Island is located in the sea between Guangdong Province and Fujian Province. It is the only island county in Guangdong Province.

The landscape of Nan'ao Island is natural. Because there is little development and little artificial decoration, the facilities are actually not very good. There are no star-rated resort hotels, few seafood restaurants, and no lighting at night. But precisely because of this, the environment is well protected, many rocks and vegetation still retain their original appearance, and the beach scenery is also beautiful. (However, due to the construction of the Nan'ao Cross-sea Bridge, the development of the island is getting faster and faster, which will be difficult to say later.) In addition, there are some historical sites on the island. If you just want to experience the beach scenery, Nan'ao Island is still very good. There is no particularly noisy environment and the beach is relatively clean. Eat seafood, take a vacation. The main attractions on the island include Treasure Island, Qing'ao Bay, Huanghuashan National Forest Park, Nan'ao General Military Mansion, Songjing, Dieshiyan Temple, etc.

In Huanghuashan National Forest Park, you can climb the mountain and see the sea view at the top of the mountain. There are also several stone turtles at the foot of the mountain. The General Military Mansion and Songjing in Nan'ao are both historic sites. The former was built in the early Ming Dynasty, and the General Military Mansion was rebuilt in 1983. If you are interested in history, you can take a look and see the cannons. The latter, as its name suggests, is a well dug in the Song Dynasty and has a long history. Dieshiyan Temple is a strange stone with two huge stones standing on top of each other. Nan'ao Island is not big. You can reach all attractions on the island by bicycle, electric car, motorcycle, rent a car or drive yourself, and you can also take the island-wide bus.

About Nan'ao Island's dining and accommodation

The main accommodation areas on Nan'ao Island are concentrated in Xiawei Bay and Qing'ao Bay. In general, the environment is very average, there is no high-end hotel. Xiawei Bay is located in the southeast of the island, close to the bus station and the scenic Songjing area. The hotel is mainly a B&B. If you want to eat seafood, it’s better to stay here. The house price is around 100 yuan. Tsing'ao Bay is located on the southwest side of Nan'ao Island, and Cheung Shan Wai Pier is nearby. In other words, if you take a ferry, you will be near Tsing'ao Bay.

If you want to see the sea view, it is better to stay here. The hotel's sea view rooms are very good, with prices ranging from 100 yuan to 200 yuan. Most of the restaurants on the island are seafood food stalls. After all, the seafood on the island is rich and fresh, and the per capita price is around 50-100.

Tickets and opening hours

Zongbingfu: 10 yuan. Treasure Island: 2 yuan on weekdays, 5 yuan on holidays (this island is a seaside rock park, so you can skip it if you are short on time). Song Jing: 12 yuan. Green Bay: $15.

Transportation Overview

There are three buses from Shantou Bus Terminal directly to Nan'ao Bus Station every day, with departure times at 8:20 am, 12:00 noon, and 14:00 pm; in addition, you can Ferry from Laiwu Pier to Changshanwei Pier on Nan'ao Island. Transportation cost: Taking a taxi from Shantou City to Laiwu Pier costs 35-40 yuan, without using the meter. Renting a van for island tour: 50 yuan/person (usually 6 to 7 people, more people can bargain). Laiwu-Changwei ferry timetable: Changshanwei Laiwu Monday to Thursday: 7:00, 9:00, 11:00, 13:00, 15:00, 17:00.

Friday to Sunday: 7 o'clock, 8 o'clock, 9 o'clock, 10 o'clock, 11 o'clock, 12 o'clock, 13 o'clock, 14 o'clock, 15 o'clock, 16 o'clock, 17 o'clock and 18 o'clock.

Laiwu-Long Tail ferry fee standard: 20 yuan/person for adults (round trip); 190 yuan/car (one driver is exempted from the transfer fee for round trip, and passengers need to buy separate tickets).
