Feiyun Grand Canyon, as majestic as a man
The first time I met Tao Mingxi was on the set of "The Rising Sun" in 2008. I remember being asked about my favorite Guizhou landscape at that time. Tao Mingxi told reporters about the Feiyun Grand Canyon in his hometown without hesitation. Feiyun Grand Canyon, located in southeastern Guizhou, is 10 kilometers long. The narrowest point of the 200 to 300-meter-deep canyon is less than 10 meters. The rocky cliffs on both sides are like cut, and the ancient trees are towering, blocking out the sky and the sun. It is deep, confusing and unpredictable.
“Feiyun Grand Canyon has always been regarded as the pride of my hometown Huangping. It deeply attracted me with its well-preserved primitive ecology and the rugged beauty of the mountain cliffs. Although I have been away from home for a long time, But my memory has always been fixed on the crystal clear river water of Feiyun Grand Canyon, as well as the groups of wild ducks playing in the water and the roaring monkeys climbing on the cliffs that I saw when I was a child. A highlight scene in the movie "The Rising Sun" I decided to shoot the scene here. I think Feiyun Grand Canyon is as primitive and majestic as a man. There are more than 100 rapids, overlapping rivers, beaches, bays, and deep pools. They are countless. It can be said that there is a scenery at every step. It’s spectacular everywhere. In my opinion, Feiyun Grand Canyon is the best location for a movie,” Tao Mingxi said excitedly.
Although he is far away from his hometown now because of work, Tao Mingxi still misses the scenery of his hometown.
Xishui, the red agate on the Long March
In his latest blog post, Tao Mingxi commented on Xishui: Xishui in late spring is covered with layers of greenery , tender green, dark green, emerald green, fresh green, goose green, all blooming on the mountain. Accompanied by a pool of clear water in Swan Lake, printed with blue sky and white clouds, taking a deep breath of air makes people merge with nature, and the soul also returns
"The F*ck Horse" is Tao Mingxi's current work. This time he moved the film based on a Guizhou police story to Xishui County for filming. Tao Mingxi believes that the reason why he chose to shoot in Xishui is mainly because of the Danxia landform here. It has the best-preserved evergreen broad-leaved forest belt in the mid-subtropical zone and has beautiful scenery. More importantly, this is also the holy place where the "four Chishui crossings" were made during the Red Long March. The "red agate" of Xishui is the most conducive to setting off the theme of "The Horse".
In the interview, Tao Mingxi also said: Tourists are sincerely invited to visit Xishui during the May Day holiday. In addition to taking in the scenic Danxia scenery, tasting mellow wine, and looking back at the Long March Road, they can also visit the nearby " The set visit team of "F*ck Horse" exchanged their impressions of Guizhou together.
Daxiaoqikong Scenic Area, the most anticipated movie background
During the interview, I found that Tao Mingxi is also a caring person. He talked about the landscape of his hometown, which seemed particularly sweet.
Tao Mingxi said frankly: "It is a pleasure to film in my hometown of Guizhou, and the beautiful scenery will never leave me. Next, I plan to shoot a movie in the Xiaoqikong Scenic Area in Libo, which is what I am most looking forward to. One of the scenic spots is Daqikong, where there is a 60-meter-high and 20-meter-wide Tiansheng Bridge. What’s more worth mentioning is the local mountain people, who all have simple faces and clean clothes. They are dressed in blue cloth and are very friendly. If you encounter something you don't understand, they will help you enthusiastically. Although the scenery in Xiaoqikong is not as colorful and clear as Jiuzhaigou, it is also exquisite, beautiful, quiet and simple. I swam around Hanbitan and then climbed to the water forest. I thought it was very fun here. You can take off your shoes and play in the stream. You can fumble for the stones on the bottom of the river with your feet and hold the jungle vines in your hands for protection. There is definitely something in the water. In addition to the excitement of exploring the secrets of the forest, you can also feel the thrill of the rapids.
I remember that I played like crazy and felt very open-minded. All the depression and annoyance left by the hustle and bustle of the city were forgotten! ”
Tao Mingxi mentioned the Big and Small Seven Holes in Libo and had a small wish of his own. He hoped that the local government could do more to protect the ecology there and not develop it too much. It retains the natural and simple shock to visitors.
Natural scenic area, original panoramic ecology
During the conversation with Tao Mingxi, I found that he always likes to think that "Guizhou is a natural scenic area." This sentence lingers on his lips. Tao Mingxi believes that Guizhou-themed movies are so popular recently because there are so many undiscovered local humanities and landscapes in Guizhou that the world is eager to understand. The ancient customs of the Sisters Festival and the characteristic costumes of the Buyi people are all precious intangible cultural heritage. They are the most original soul of Guizhou. Fanjing Mountain, Qianling Mountain, Leigong Mountain, Hongfeng Lake, etc. Weining Caohai, Danxia landform, Wumeng Mountain area, karst landform, etc. are equivalent to the roots of Guizhou. There are so many natural and original resources in Guizhou, which is the fundamental reason why Guizhou is so popular among people.
Tao Mingxi also pays special attention to the ethnic architecture in his hometown: "Many times, I have introduced Guizhou's traditional folk architecture into movies, hoping to let more people understand and fall in love with Guizhou. Not only because these buildings have their own unique national flavor and beauty, but also because these buildings record the wisdom of the ancients. The uniqueness of the Drum Tower, the magic of the Diaojiaolou, and the romance of the Wind and Rain Bridge are all elements of the movie that fascinate me.
Eat something special
Tao Mingxi usually can only wolf down a box of lunch in order to keep up with the schedule when filming outside for a long time. When it comes to meal time, Tao Mingxi can only wolf down a box of lunch. Mentioning Guizhou’s delicacies, he swallowed his saliva He crossed his fingers.
“I really like the beef jerky in my hometown of Huangping Jiuzhou. It is very delicious. I will recommend this snack to my good friends every time. It is fragrant and refreshing after chewing for a long time. I love it to death. , I often eat one to satisfy my cravings when filming. It should be the best choice for tourists. In addition to beef jerky, I also like Houttuynia cordata, also called Zheergen, which is more common and commonly eaten in Guizhou. There are many ways to eat it cold or stir-fried, and it also has the effects of clearing heat, detoxifying, and reducing swelling. I would also like to suggest that friends who come to Guizhou try to find authentic soups in the mountainous areas, usually during important festivals or events. During weddings and weddings, pigs are killed in rural areas, and then the offal is cooked together to prepare a special pot of soup to entertain guests. This freshly killed and eaten hot pot is delicious, not greasy, and rich. It is definitely a rare feature. It’s delicious, especially when you eat the large pieces of offal mixed with the special dipping water, it must be a joy in life,” Tao Mingxi said.
Although he is busy filming, Tao Mingxi still can't stand the temptation of hometown delicacies. In his free time, he will go everywhere with his friends to "try new things". A Youduo once took him to Xiasi to eat wild duck, and Wang Feihong also took him to Xiasi to eat wild duck. I recommended him to try Jianhe's fish in sour soup. He can be regarded as a person who enjoys good taste.
Reporter’s Notes: It was a pleasure to interview Tao Mingxi in Xishui. In addition to admiring the beautiful Danxia landform as he said, his active cooperation also left a deep impression on the reporter. The filming schedule of "WTF" is very fast, but Tao Mingxi has extremely strict requirements on actors and backgrounds. He told reporters that this is to restore the real Guizhou to the audience as much as possible. Guizhou now has a great opportunity for the tourism industry to take a big step forward. If he can have a good opportunity to let more people know about Guizhou, he does not dare to be careless at all. Tao Mingxi's persistent love for his hometown is admirable.
