Is it duty-free for Delta Airlines to fly to Japan?

Can Delta flights to Japan be sold duty-free? Has anyone concerned taken this flight, hoping to easily buy duty-free goods here, but I have never tried it. Let me give you a detailed analysis.

Does Delta Airlines sell duty-free goods when flying to Japan?

It depends on the time and season. It is not sold every day, but it will be sold at a specific time.

Delta seems to fly to the west coast and stop in Tokyo. The fare is really cheap and the company is very reliable.

How to exchange air miles for free first class and business class to travel around the world?

Last time, I wrote the basic knowledge about the hotel frequent visitor program, which was liked by many readers. I also thank Jane for recommending me and putting it on the front page.

In fact, travel has nothing to do with quality or money. What I want to convey is an open mind and method when traveling. This has been learned and can be applied at any time.

Speaking of hotels, I want to talk about aviation. This knowledge is only the basic level of getting started.

Today I'm not talking about the gold and platinum cards in the aviation sector. To be honest, I don't care much about this, because most of my points are exchanged for two free cabins (first class and business class), so gold and platinum cards don't mean much to me. But at present, I still hold gold cards from Alitalia and Etihad Airways.

The benefits of air gold card are:

1, use the VIP room, whether you are flying class or economy class, you can also enjoy the VIP room, which is equivalent to a meal card and a bath voucher.

The lounge, bathroom and meals prepared by Qatar Airways for local tyrants in Doha. Qatar Airways ranks 1 in the world this year.

2. Check more luggage, which needs no explanation.

3. Give priority to boarding and upgrading. Especially the upgrade, everyone is very concerned. I used to have a Cathay Pacific silver card, and I got four free upgrades at the gate. I will talk about upgrading skills separately in the future. Some airlines will also have upgrade tickets in the future, such as Alitalia, American Airlines and Cathay Pacific.

4. Get more bonus points. For example, if I have an Alitalia gold card, I can get 50% extra points on all SkyTeam flights such as China Southern Airlines or China Eastern Airlines.

Airlines have the concept of alliance, just like the concept of hotel group. Except upgrade, any airline in the alliance can enjoy other rights. For example, if you are the gold card of Air China, you can enjoy the Singapore Airlines lounge at Singapore Airport by Asiana Airlines, because Air China, Asiana and Singapore Airlines are all members of the Star Alliance. SkyTeam is the same as OneWorld.

My personal international travel is to exchange mileage for two cabins (first class and business class), and these benefits are included, so the significance of the gold card is not particularly great to me.

The advantages of exchanging points for flights are:

1, which is not affected by price changes. At present, except Delta Air Lines, other airlines' award tickets are redeemed according to the fixed mileage of regions and distances-

A: Regional division: For example, American Airlines classified China, Japanese, Korean and other countries as Asia Zone 2. If you travel from anywhere in Asia Zone 2 to anywhere in Europe, and if you fly business class with any airline in the world, you need 52,500 points for one-way mileage.

Chengdu to Amsterdam and Shanghai to Paris all travel in the same area, so they all need the same mileage.

B: Distance division: For example, Cathay Pacific's asia miles exchange standard is mileage exchange. The actual flight distance of 5000 ~ 7500 miles is a gear, and one-way business class needs 700 million Asian miles to exchange.

For example, the direct flight from Shanghai to London is 5755 miles.

If I take Qatar Airways from Shanghai and then fly to London via Doha, the actual flying distance is 74,965,438+0 miles.

The advantage of this is that you can go to one more place in London, which leads to the next advantage: free accommodation.

2. Get a free stopover. Generally, air tickets purchased in cash, even for connecting flights, are mostly controlled within 24 hours, while staying means more than 24 hours. According to the appeal route, even if I pay for the ticket of Qatar Airways, there will be a flight to London within 8 hours of the normal stay in Qatar. If you want to stay in Qatar for a few more days and have fun, you need to buy two air tickets.

You don't need to book two tickets for the stay of the award ticket. You can book it before and after the trip, which is a one-way trip. So you can stay in Doha for a few days.

3. Get a free jaw opening. Some airlines stipulate that reward tickets need to be booked round trip, such as All Nippon Airways. Generally, airlines with regional exchange standards will be involved in opening. The normal round trip is point-to-point, such as Shanghai-London-Shanghai. Among the award tickets, Shanghai-London and Paris-Beijing/Shanghai are also round trips, because Paris and London, Shanghai and Beijing are all in the same area. In other words, you made a small incision before London and Paris, Shanghai and Beijing. As shown in the figure:

Drawing tool: gcmap.com

The advantage of this is that even if you book a round trip, you don't have to look back when you play. From London to Paris, you can return home directly from Paris.

At the beginning of this year, I switched from Air Canada to Singapore Airlines to fly to Singapore, and finally returned to China by Thai Airways from Chiang Mai. This is also a round trip, but I only opened the mouth between Singapore and Chiang Mai. (Air Canada, Singapore Airlines and Thai Airways are all Star Alliance and interchangeable. )

This leads to the fourth benefit: experience different airlines.

People who love traveling like different things. Because of the existence of airline alliances, they can experience more airlines when redeeming award flights. For example, I like to accumulate American Airlines and have experienced flights of American Airlines, Qatar Airways, Cathay Pacific and Japan Airlines. Star Alliance has accumulated in Air Canada and experienced ANA, Asiana, Singapore Airlines and Thai Airways.

So, after I talk about redeeming award flights, there must be many people who want to say, where did so many miles come from?

Ok, so let me talk about mileage accumulation:

1, the most important thing is to fly. If your base is in Beijing, of course, there are more opportunities to take Air China. I suggest you accumulate to ANA. Taking this as an example, let's take a look at an ANA accumulation standard of Air China:

For the two cabins, the accumulation of ANA belongs to the industry level, and the Y cabin is full-price economy class, and the accumulation of 100% is also normal. Only the discount economy class is only 50% and 30%, but the advantage of ANA is that it can be redeemed for award flights.

Starting from China (Asia 1 Zone), it takes only 25,000 miles for economy class and 48,000 miles for business class to go to India, Maldives, Sri Lanka and other Asian zones.

It only takes 55,000 miles for economy class and 88,000 miles for business class to go to Europe. In today's era of sharp depreciation of mileage, ANA has always been kind. The disadvantage is that the fuel tax is relatively high.

If you are based in Shanghai and Guangzhou, China Southern's frequent visitor program is worth considering, and it is suitable for redeeming domestic flights.

If you like OneWorld, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airlines and British Airways all have good frequent flyer programs.

The reason is the same as the ANA example I gave.

Just choose a regular customer plan that suits you. There is no best frequent flyer program, only the one that suits you best. Many times it depends on the flight you often take and the route you want to change. I will analyze it in detail later.

2. Hotel points. My biggest source of mileage every year is hotel points, because my plan is that all hotel points will be used for free flights. Marriott, SPG, Hilton, Intercontinental and other major hotel groups all support the conversion of air miles. I like SPG because it supports the conversion of air mileage of most major airlines in the world 1: 1, and can earn 5,000 more air miles for every 20,000 hotel points, so SPG is also the most honest and valuable frequent flyer program in the industry.

3. Credit card. The second largest source of my flying mileage is credit card points. First of all, I recommend credit cards from several banks: China Merchants Bank, Industrial Bank, Bank of Communications, Guangfa Bank, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank and China CITIC Bank. If you are just a white user, you can try to apply for a joint credit card of major airlines and banks. The three major domestic airlines have co-branded cards with many banks, so it is recommended to apply for a co-branded card of China Southern Airlines. There are fewer foreign airlines, only Bank of Communications-Yawan, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank-JAL, China Merchants Bank-ANA and so on.

If you are an advanced user, applying for a bank platinum card or above can support the conversion of many airlines, including Yawan. The best credit card points for air mileage should be American Express Centurion Platinum Card, which is available in China Merchants Bank, ICBC and Minsheng, but this card is not so easy to get. (I personally prefer China Merchants Bank, and I only use China Merchants Bank. )

Favorite and most useful cards

I will also talk about how to play various credit cards.

4. Other channels, including shopping and car rental, can refer to official website, the airline you want to join. You can leave me a message if you have any questions you don't understand.

Despite all these advantages, award tickets also have disadvantages:

1, limited by time. For example, an airplane has 50 business seats, and only 5 seats can be released as reward seats. Sometimes it will be put earlier, such as the first class of Cathay Pacific. Some may not be sold three or four days before departure, and then released. Therefore, sometimes it takes patience and luck to redeem reward tickets.

2. It is very complicated to check and issue tickets. Because some airlines in official website may not support the inquiry and reservation of award tickets, telephone reservation is needed at this time. The best way is to pick up the ticket yourself and then dial the flight number directly to issue the ticket.

You can check the award tickets of OneWorld on British Airways official website.

Star Alliance award tickets can be found in ANA or UA official website.

SkyTeam Award Tickets can be found on the official websites of Air France or Delta Air Lines.

Sometimes, you need to query by parts. If you need to inquire about the global flights from Shanghai to new york, you may not see the award tickets by directly entering PVG-JFK (new york). But if you decide to choose JAL and enter PVG-NRT (Tokyo), NRT-JFK may see both tickets. This is a segmented inquiry in the award ticket, because you have to transfer in Japan to take JAL.

Last question, which airlines are suitable for redeeming award flights?

1, expensive cabin, for example, I only change the mileage of two cabins.

2, expensive routes, such as going to Tahiti and Palau, where there are few routes and the price is expensive, especially for honeymoon.

3, your date, although it is not easy to find a reward ticket during the peak period, you can still have it patiently.

Of course, there is a lot of knowledge to be used in air mileage, and the rules of each airline are different. So I will analyze each situation in detail in the future, but the basic knowledge nouns I will talk about today will be mentioned a lot later:

stopover

ringent

fuel oil tax

Two cabins (first class, business class)

Space (y, b, m)

In the future, I will focus on how to travel for free, especially in the fields of aviation and hotels, as well as visas and credit cards. Finally, share a map of my flight around the northern hemisphere:

The most exciting is the Dutch island of St. Martin, the beach next to the airport, and the pink beach in the Bahamas:
