Where is Boracay Island? Boracay Travel Guide 2017
Boracay is a very nice place with many beautiful scenery. It’s a good time to go there in the summer, and you can also choose to go snorkeling to see what the world is like on land. This decision is really great.
: Manila
1. If you arrive in Manila in the morning or early afternoon, you can choose to transfer directly to Boracay Island, because the flight from Manila to Caticlan Airport The time is only 50 minutes. Plus, there really isn’t much to do in Manila.
2. If you are late like me, or want to see the city since you are here, you can stay for a night or two. What you need at this time is to take a taxi. You need to take an Uber in advance and bind a visa credit card. Just fill in the phone number. The driver won't call you if you don't need to. The local taxis are very expensive, and the price of Uber is at least one-half or even one-third or even lower.
3. It would be nice if the hotel was a little closer to the airport, because traffic jams in Manila are much worse than in Beijing!
: Boracay
1. Accommodation: It is recommended to live near the white sand beach, which is really convenient. You can play in the water in the morning and it is easy to clean after playing. It is true that food in the hotel will be a little more expensive, but it is also cheaper than in China. Taking the popular Friday as an example, three smoothies, one beer, one cocktail, one freshly squeezed juice, one pizza, one soup, one salad, and one fried chicken wings cost about 350 RMB.
2. Eat: Naturally, dmall has more options and is cheaper than hotels. Of course, many travel notes recommend this kind of self-selected seafood processing. Personally, I feel that it is easy to be deceived because English is not your native language and it is difficult for you to communicate normally. To prevent being scammed, choose a restaurant with good prices. Basically no problem. Filipinos are still very nice.
3. Good: Boracay is a sudden bus. The bus parked on the roadside basically costs 100 pesos. If an empty bus stops on the road and only takes your home to one destination, it also costs 100 pesos. If someone else's car is running on the road, stop them and give them 10 pesos each. Of course, 100 pesos for a car is very cheap, but when you see people getting off the bus and being asked to pay 100 pesos each, it is best to say hello to someone before getting in the car, or pay 100 pesos for each car. Just make sure. Even if they try to trick you when you get to the ground, and you insist that you used to pay 100 pesos per car, they will not make things difficult for you.
4. Usage: There are many convenience stores in Boracay, you can buy anything, don’t worry.
Overall review: Boracay Island is really beautiful. The white sandy beach is very gentle and very suitable for children. From a distance, the water is still very shallow. The water is very clear and there are not many fish, but it is still good for children to practice snorkeling at the beach. As for island hopping, Crystal Island is beautiful, but the snorkeling is average. The last few pictures are worth a look!
: Tips
1. "Bring a blanket" on the plane is really the most important thing. Long sleeves and long pants are best worn with socks. Wearing shorts and flip-flops on the return trip, it was so cold that I doubted my life and thought I might die on the plane. If you're lucky, you'll have to spend 80 yuan to buy a blanket on the plane.
2. You must bring rain gear, and I think it is more practical to bring a raincoat than an umbrella. Wearing a raincoat is invincible, but holding an umbrella is relatively inconvenient. There are also local ones, most of which are one-offs. May to October is the rainy season in Boracay, and the weather changes quickly. On a sunny day, it suddenly started raining. Of course, it comes and goes quickly, so it doesn’t have much impact on the drama.
3. "You must bring flip-flops." There are almost no cloth shoes on the street. You will regret it if you wear them out. Firstly, whenever it rains, secondly, there are puddles on the road. If you plan to buy havaianas, you can still do it. Everyone says that the local Havana is cheaper than the domestic one. But I think D'mall's store is not much different.
4. “It is relatively cost-effective to exchange pesos at domestic banks.” Pesos can also be exchanged at airports and local banks. The airport charges RMB 60 per transaction. Local banks charge a handling fee of 200 pesos for 1W. Local banks will have card restrictions, but VISA is basically OK.
Be sure to exchange it at a local bank. Wang Siran reminded that some exchange points with higher exchange rates may have counterfeit currency mixed in, so be careful.
5. Wang Siran reminded that you can bring fruit on board to eat, but you must finish it. Customs does not allow fruit to be brought in. I bought some mangoes on the way back and tried them before I finished them. Got out safely. I don’t know if it’s a fluke or if the customs requirements in different places are inconsistent.
6. The four treasures cannot be taken away: shells, sand, starfish, and coral. Before I left, I planned to take some sand back to make small sand bottles for my good friends, but I didn’t let them leave. It is said that the sand has been lost too fast in recent years. Therefore, Customs will conduct a thorough investigation. If you bring them, the younger ones will be kept or fined, while the older ones will be locked in a small dark room.
7. The four kings of Boracay: ants, flies, geckos, and cockroaches. Wang Siran still worried me when he explained in the car. In fact, I can watch it, but it’s just not worthy of the name.
8. Sunscreen is recommended to go to Boracay supermarket to buy 100 sunscreen and use it with coconut oil. After walking for a few days, there was only darkness and loss. Many locals only apply coconut oil because they feel that sunscreen is of little use if they are often in the water. All year round, tan and super sexy.
9. When I arrived in Boracay, I took tuk-tuk all over the world. Go out and find a Dudu. S1 to S3 is 60 pesos. If the hotel doesn't know how to describe it, just take out the room card.
: Fun
1. The snorkeling project still surprised me a bit. I thought I could dive three to five meters into the sea. In fact, the whole person is floating on the water. Your head can be stuck in the water, but you can also see some small fish and corals. will be limited to a small range. It feels like a deep dive etude. Suitable for the elderly, children, or people who are not suitable for deep diving. You can wear a life jacket and diving goggles, there is no danger. It doesn't matter if you don't know how to use a respirator. Just hold your breath, look at the ocean floor, and raise your head.
2. Deep diving is really interesting and highly recommended if conditions permit. The air tank on your back will completely dive to about 12 meters underwater, which is completely different from snorkeling. I don't think there is any need to spend another snorkeling fee to go diving. Recommend a "Mario Diving Center". I wonder if I can find it on Taobao? Wang Siran brought it there. First, we will give some explanation about diving, including diving tools and some hand signals. At first glance, it looks like dozens of people are sitting in a room listening to one person talking, and there are many bare-chested men around. It looks like a pyramid scheme, but the person explaining it is very humorous, and you will feel safe after listening to it. After the explanation, I took it to the shore to do some exercises, and then set off when it felt okay. There are only two people with one coach, which is very considerate. Someone will take photos with you throughout the process, the photos will be uploaded to the network disk, and a CD will be given as a gift at no extra charge. This is another conscience I want to talk about. The coach will take you through the whole process. If you can't balance your ears well, he'll help you do it together. All in all the service was excellent.
As for the choice of "facial mask", you can choose a full-face mask, which is super convenient. As long as the ear pressure is balanced, there is no difference from water. If you want a challenge, choose a half mask. When I practice on the shore, I use a half mask. I wanted to take out my respirator and take pictures underwater, but water kept coming out of my mouth. A handsome old man told me why I couldn’t get along with myself. After getting on the boat, I obediently put on a full face mask. It is recommended to use a full face mask for your first dive. Really, not everyone’s body can adapt to it, and the insurance factor of full coverage is higher.
When I arrived in Boracay, I really regretted not trying it. There is a feeling that I have been to heaven and to the sea. My dad also told me that there really are dragons under the sea. Old naughty boy. Oh, really.
3. Jungle off-roading is driving a sand truck to a private beach. There are also three famous beaches. I thought we all went there by sand cart. In fact, we went to the private beach by sand cart. Others drove there. Driving on sand is still super fun. Really in the jungle. The mountain road is super dangerous and has a very steep gradient. But the overall feeling is that I drove the sand truck for a lap, 70 points.
4. Puka Beach, also known as Shell Beach. The scenery is nice. There are shells on the beach.
Because my stay was short, I didn’t have the opportunity to walk around and enjoy the beautiful scenery, and I didn’t see the signboard of the Puka branch. However, everyone still has a good impression of Puka Beach in the guide. It is said that there are two kinds of beauties between Puka Beach and White Beach. Worth a walk when you have time. Liang Jingru’s wedding photos were taken at Puka Beach.
5. The word white beach is so magical! White Beach is much larger than other beaches, and the sand is really super fine. No amount of words can truly describe this, but I can only experience it myself. I happened to arrive in the evening and met the setting sun. Standing on the shore and watching the whole process of sunset, it is really beautiful. Around 5 or 6 o'clock, you can see the sunset. But the time of day is different, and there is certainly no sunset every day. When the weather is clear, you must put everything down to watch the sunset at night. You will have no regrets in this life.
6. Of course, there are others, such as Mount Luho and Our Lady of the Rocks. There are also attractions and projects such as skydiving, island hopping, and helicopters. I only share what I have experienced, and only those who have experienced it have the right to speak. Choose good weather when choosing a parachute. People in the same group said that if the wind is too strong, the boat will capsize, so at the most dangerous moment, Xiao Hei will choose to cut the paracord to protect himself. I'm still scared, but I don't believe in the most dangerous moment. Xiaohei won't. The weather is not good so we can play another day.
Food
Speaking of food, this trip was too much for me. Wang Siran told us that the local taste of Boracay is "sweet and salty". If you buy smoothies, you can choose half sugar, but it is too sweet to eat. But after a few days, I actually felt pretty good. The taste is really sweet, especially in the meat, but I don't find it salty.
1. Drink mango smoothie every day. D'mall or restaurants can be found everywhere, and they all taste great. It tastes neither sticky nor greasy. It’s really different from domestic smoothies. There is no feeling of ice breaking apart. Even if you leave it for a while, it won't feel like it has melted or the taste has faded. The most famous one in Boracay is JONY'S, which can be found in shops along the white sand beach.
2. Cocoa mother must eat. On the street where D'mall enters from Green Skin Supermarket, the street is full of vegetables and fruits. It's easy to miss, so be careful. It's really a coconut shell, with some fresh coconut meat scraped off, and served with ice cream, mango, and glutinous rice. It tastes faintly of coconut and the glutinous rice is chewy, so don’t miss it.
3. Mango cheesecake is at the end of D'mall near the seaside, a small cafe where you can have afternoon tea. I tried two, but the other one forgot its name, as shown in Figure 1 below. The taste is average and tastes a bit greasy. Mango cheesecake, picture 2 (with a mango flower on top), is not greasy at all and is super delicious.
4. Chicken Steak Burger is located on Remedios Street, Sunset Road. This is a small coastal store next to a sporting goods store. Selling milk tea and burgers, the store is very, very small. I never thought I could make such a delicious burger. None of this strategy is available. Recommended by Wang Siran. The overall taste is sweet, the chicken steak is not crispy after frying, the roasted chicken is not soft, and the dough is very firm. In short, it is delicious.
5. The Spanish restaurant Dos Mistizo is also on Sunset Road on Remedios Street. This store is very atmospheric, with red and white checkered tablecloths and dim lighting. There is also a small hall with singers and several tables for drinking. The most famous one is cuttlefish rice. I went a little late that day and didn't get it. I had the paella, which was pretty good. There was some garlic beef, white wine clams and egg fritters. I also give some bread before meals and it's delicious too. Be careful with this soup as it is cold soup.
Andok Roast Chicken This is also an Internet celebrity store. Chain stores, found in many places, have no taste to speak of. The chicken is very tender, tastes very sweet, and there is sauce, which is super delicious. This chocolate bag is also delicious, but you can eat it after buying it. It tastes bad when it's cold. Very soft.
7. Walkera Crab Noodle House, an online celebrity store, has a message wall made of crab shells as its signature. The taste is average, I recommend the seafood platter. The squid rings inside are particularly tender and delicious.
8. I have eaten Filipino food once. In D'mall, the sign is that there is a bus in the hotel, but I can't remember the name. I don’t think I can appreciate Filipino food, so I don’t recommend it.
I ordered a seafood soup, which tasted like coconut and was a bit unpleasant.
9. Seafood can be bought at the "Taliba" seafood market and then processed in the hotel. If you hit a toot, you can say we're going to "beat your dad." The price of seafood should be reduced from 30. There is another way to buy crabs. Place your hand in a basin filled with crabs. If there is no fishy smell on your hands, the crabs are fresh. No matter what kind of seafood it is, it is super tender and the taste is really different from what you eat in Beijing. I don’t really like seafood, but it’s super delicious in Boracay. Tiger prawns, crabs, and lobsters are all worth eating.
10. Here, I would like to say that McDonald’s in the Philippines is also a discovery of conscience. It wanted a big potato, but it was such a big box.
1. You must eat pineapple when you go to Boracay Island. Must eat. This might be the most truly ripe pineapple I've ever had. It's sweet and soft. It’s rare to see such a small durian in Beijing. Although it is small, it is ripe and fragrant as soon as you open it. The taste is no different from the durian eaten in Beijing.
