Palau self-help tour price:
It costs about 40 thousand RMB. The food here is super expensive and not delicious.
Maybe some places are not very professional and accurate, but they are really my most direct feelings and suggestions.
Visa: landing visa, very convenient.
Air ticket: Palau has no diplomatic relations with China, and can only transfer at Hongkong (recommended), Macau (frequent flight delays) and Seoul (expensive). Here, I suggest that you book the plane+wine package directly with the travel agency, and it is not very cost-effective to set the price yourself. Even cheap air tickets take a long time to transfer. I booked it at Aiyou, and the service is not bad. It takes about 3 hours and 40 minutes to fly from Hong Kong to Palau.
Local time: Only one hour later than China.
Local weather: June and July are just the rainy season in Palau, about 30 degrees. I don't feel hot, but it rains intermittently. I have met a big sun on one side, a storm on the other and a rainbow on the other. Although snorkeling has little effect on the weather, I always feel that the seabed with sunshine should be clearer.
Hotel: The hotel facilities in Palau are relatively general, and the local five-star hotels are similar to the four-star hotels in China. However, Palau's basic pleasures are going to sea, so there is no need to book expensive hotels. Pacific Ocean and Laoye Hotel is the best international five-star hotel in Palau. Local five-star hotels: Paradise Island (my last choice), Park Hyatt, Palau, Xiaowan (built last year, relatively new) (it seems that there are only seven rooms, which is more pretentious). There is an endless swimming pool in front, which is close to the sea pier and the city center. Breakfast tastes good, except that there is no free wifi in the hotel, which is also a long struggle. Later, it was found that other hotels with wifi had super poor networks. Fortunately, I used the traffic bought by the local 3G card, so it's no problem to brush my circle of friends. You can check the pictures online for the choice of hotel. I personally recommend Paradise Island.
Sailing group: I strongly recommend that you have a small Sui group and a long wave, with the same boss and good service. And choose an exquisite group of people from 10 to 12. Our tour guide is Steven, a native of Shandong, and he is the most responsible tour guide I have ever seen. (The tour guide tips 10 USD per day, and the shuttle bus ends in three days at 20 USD. )
Transportation: There are buses and a few taxis in the area. If you want to travel freely, you can choose to rent a car and use a domestic driver's license. However, we have already signed up for the local sea tour group, and they can pick you up whether you go to the dock or eat in the city.
Catering: Free breakfast will be provided in general hotels. The three-day lunch at sea was all on an uninhabited island. The tour guide made it himself, and it was delicious. On the first day at sea, they also provided dinner, including mangrove crabs, lobsters, prawns and bat soup. The other days, the dinner you cooked by yourself is also the most expensive place for you to come to Palau, because the food is really expensive! A couple in the same hotel ordered three cauliflowers in a restaurant called fc, and three of us also went. Four cauliflowers cost 4000 RMB, and the key taste is not good. It seems that fc was recommended by the tour guide, you know. Here, I recommend a restaurant called "Crab Fishing Port", which is from Jinhua, Zhejiang. It is very heavy and tastes good. The key is to take you back to the hotel.
Offbar, there is a famous hamburger here. You must buy Haagen-Dazs. It is sold in the supermarket, as long as 1.85 USD, 13 RMB.
Preparation before departure:
1. Passport (valid for more than 6 months. I would like to remind you that when you arrive in Palau, you must take care of your passports. Since Palau has no diplomatic relations with China, you are going to stay in Palau for three to six months.
2. E-tourism travel itinerary (the tour group will send it to your email one or two days in advance, just print it out, and it is best to print two more copies. You can also stay in Hong Kong for 7 days, and you don't need a pass when going back and forth to Hong Kong. You'd better make two copies of these documents, just in case.
3, underwater camera, rented by Taobao, 35 days, customer service also pulled me into a Palau group, and some travelers who have been there before also shared their experiences and met their peers! Taobao is called the Bird's Nest.
4. Jellyfish suits, swimsuits (three sets, at least one with bright colors, which is more suitable for underwater shooting), locally rented flippers (6 dollars a day), sun protection windbreaker, waterproof bag, sun protection for more than 50 times, flip-flops, sunglasses, wide-brimmed hat, beach skirt, (snorkeling and breathing goggles, disposable bite, life jacket) will be provided free of charge.
5, motion sickness medicine, gastrointestinal medicine, cold medicine (English), band-aid (snorkeling is easy to be bitten by small fish, coral reef stone scratches), after-sun repair mask,
Remarks: When disembarking from the plane for entry inspection, it is basically necessary to unpack, so it is best to put the luggage in the storage bag, otherwise it will be turned upside down. No more than 20 cigarettes per person, but you can bring a bottle of wine. Meat food is not allowed. It is recommended to bring two barrels of instant noodles. Generally, many flights to Palau hotels are in the early hours of the morning, and there is no place to eat.
Next, I will give a general description of my itinerary.
Fly to Hong Kong for 4 nights from 6.28 to 7.25 days.
6.28: The 7: 30 pm flight is on time. Arrive at Palau's only international airport (there is no domestic airline) at 45 am, get off the plane, get your luggage, go through the entry-exit inspection, get on the bus and go to the hotel. The guide on the bus will tell you some precautions, so just listen carefully. When you arrive at the hotel, the tour guide will help you check in first, tell us the meeting time tomorrow and give us a ticket. It costs 30 yuan 1g (20 yuan and 500 trillion is actually enough) and then asks us to collect 50 yuan of sea tax and 20 yuan of fishing tax per person (these are all to be paid to local environmental protection).
6.29: Leave a tip of 1 USD on the bedside table before going out. The room cleaning union took it away personally and locked all the important documents and jewels in the safe. If you are not afraid of the sun, just wear a swimsuit. It is recommended to wear a jellyfish suit. There is no place to change clothes at sea. We will wait for them in the lobby from 7: 30 to 9: 30 to pick up breakfast at 9: 00. You can get the bath towel at the front desk with the key. You will need it later. Remember not to lose it. The compensation is not double. I went to the dock to get my life jacket and flippers, and then got on the boat. Go fishing in the sea on the first morning (it's easier to get seasick, so you can take some motion sickness medicine). Go to an uninhabited island for dinner at noon. In the afternoon, I taught snorkeling, and then I went to two snorkeling spots (don't go into details, everyone will experience it). When I came back, the ship set sail because I was wet. After landing, they will provide you with a cup of hot ginger tea, which is quite delicious. Usually they will go back to the hotel at 5 o'clock, and they will take us there. It is more convenient to live near the pier. Remember to put on the repaired mask when you arrive at the hotel. At 7 o'clock, they will pick you up for dinner in the city, then go to the supermarket and buy some snacks. At 9 o'clock, they will pick us up on time.
6.30
The departure time is the same, snorkeling in the morning, eating in Boracay at noon and taking photos in Boracay in the afternoon. Be sure to bring cosmetics, beach skirts, hats and beautiful swimsuits. You can really take pictures all afternoon. But sometimes unfortunately, there will be many people, and there will always be people taking pictures.
7. 1 In the morning, we went to Niunai Lake. At noon, we ate on an uninhabited island. I went to two snorkeling spots in the afternoon, and the last stop was Shark City (very exciting).
7.2 If you check out after breakfast and get off the plane at noon 1, you will have to pay a departure tax of $50.
In addition, you can book an extra day's trip and rent a car around go on road trip (because the local infrastructure is really poor, it will take two hours to walk. I heard that the traffic accident was very troublesome, so I didn't consider it. In the evening, you can also go fishing, eat the latest sashimi, watch the sunset and watch the Milky Way starry sky at sea (I planned to go before, but unfortunately there were no stars in those nights, so I gave up). Experiencing diving (without a diving license) means carrying an oxygen bottle into the sea for more than ten meters, and all the peers went. Other feelings are fine, but my ears are very uncomfortable. I feel that I should get a diving license to go deep diving if I have the opportunity. The local landscape feeling is still different from the experience of diving.
Cost: 30,000-40,000 (two persons), including two days' accommodation in Guangdong and two days' accommodation in Hong Kong. In addition to these, the air tickets for Palau and Hong Kong alone cost about 30,000 yuan.
Bottom line: Palau really doesn't look at the sea when he comes back!
