On April 26th, 2007, I brought a photographer, a makeup artist and an assistant to Hefei to interview Su Mingjuan. At the Hilton Hotel where we stayed, I was surprised to see the photo of "Big Eyes" on the service counter, which said in Chinese and English: Support Project Hope with your love. The baggage attendant told us that this poster can be seen everywhere in Hefei. When he learned that we were here to interview her this time, he almost asked in an excited tone, "What's her name? Is it quite big now? " I told him that her name was Su Mingjuan and she was 24 years old. She works in your local provincial industrial and commercial bank. ?

After Jie Hailong left Li Tao Primary School in Jinzhai Township, where Su Mingjuan was located, the photos of "I want to go to school" began to spread in various media and quickly became the propaganda symbol of China Hope Project. At this time, however, Su Mingjuan, the hero in the photo, knew nothing about all this. It was not until three years later that a student named Li Wan from a military academy in Changsha, Hunan, sent a copy of the People's Liberation Army Daily and a letter to the headmaster.
