What kind of place is Xidan in Beijing? ..

Xidan is a commercial district in Xicheng District, Beijing.

Xidan is named after Xidan archway, commonly known as Xidan archway in old Beijing.

The name of Xidan comes from an archway named "Zhan Yun". There is also an archway at Dongdan intersection in Dongcheng District, with the title "Nine Days". Because it is a single arched building, things are opposite, so it is commonly known as Xidan arched building and Dongdan arched building, or referred to as Xidan arched building and Dongdan arched building. There is a four-archway intersection in the north of Xidan and Dongdan, so it is called Xisi archway and Dongsi archway, or Xisi and Dongsi for short. Xidan archway 1923 demolished.

On the eve of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the Xidan archway was rebuilt in the transformation of Xidan Cultural Square.

Xidan takes Xidan intersection as the center, and there are many commercial facilities along Xidan Cultural Square and Xidan North Street. Xidan's business is dominated by youthful fashion elements, which attracts more local young people in Beijing to go shopping for leisure, and has the reputation of "shopping paradise for young people".

Xidan has always been described as "a modern commercial center integrating shopping, catering, leisure, entertainment, fitness, culture, office and tourism". The main roads in Xidan are Chang 'an Street (Fuxingmennei Street-West Chang 'an Street) and Xidan Street (Xidan North Street-Xuanwumennei Street), and the intersection of the two lines is Xidan Road.
