Jimad: Love a person and give a city.

Wright and Park Jung Su Wilder are not the only ones who can design castles for lovers, wives and lovers. Sports Master Germad, a French art nouveau, did the same. Maybe it's true. For architects, loving a person and dedicating a city is the most professional expression!

It's not surprising that Jimad did this. Isn't it true that China people are romantic? Germad is a typical romantic French man. In order to surprise his wealthy American wife, during 1909 and 19 12, he designed his family hotel Guimard as a wedding gift for his wife, and designed all the furniture, interior decoration and household items.

Hector Germad (1March 867 10 to1May 20, 942), an architect, is a representative figure of French Art Nouveau. Because he designed the entrance of the Paris subway station, he showed a strong personal style and was called "subway style".

Germad was born in Lyon. Studied at the National Academy of Arts in Paris. Later, he taught at the Paris Institute of Art Education. During the period of 1895, 29-year-old Jimad traveled to Belgium and met victor horta, the representative of the Belgian Art Nouveau Movement, thus starting the creation of Art Nouveau style. 1896, 30-year-old Jimad began to design a series of subway entrances for Paris, and the design of these subway stations became his masterpiece.

The typical feature of Art Nouveau movement is advocating natural style and pursuing the embodiment of the inherent vitality of plants in design, which is perfectly explained in Jimad's design.

Decoration has become an important existence in Jimad's works. Asymmetric architectural form is not only the embodiment of eclecticism at that time, but also the embodiment of natural decoration style. The building designed by Jimad grows naturally from the main body of the building, just like the vines of plants grow from the roots, full of movement and vitality.

Germad's works for 23 years. 1898 The exterior wall of this apartment won the "Most Beautiful Exterior Wall Award in Paris".

There are three basic types of design for the entrance of Paris subway. The first one has only railings. The main body of the cast iron railing is a snail pattern, and there is a curved letter M under the snail at the bottom of the left and right railings. The subway sign is an iron arch like a branch, and the enamel "METROPOLITAIN Stay" subway sign is hung. The other component is a lamp with an amber glass cover.

The second is the style of Faye Wong subway station, which won the prize in the subway entrance design competition held by Jimad at 1898. It consists of three fences. The basic type of building is a shell shape, made of bronze and other metals. The ceiling is made of rococo elements and assembled with large pieces of glass. The building is elegant and natural, and natural life is symbolized and metaphorically represented by waves and shells. Because of its strong decorative meaning and smooth and beautiful lines, it was evaluated as the pinnacle of French Art Nouveau movement.

Entrance design of the third kind of subway station

The design of the entrance of Paris subway is light and natural, which is the best interpretation of Jimad's pursuit of nature and emotion in his design. Dali once described the entrance of the Paris subway: "Those magical entrances of the Paris subway, with their elegance, let people enter their subconscious world, which is a vivid aesthetic kingdom looking forward to tomorrow."

In the "Looking Back at the Century" souvenir sheet series released by France in 2000, all kinds of Paris subway entrances designed by Jimad were included as important architectural works.

From the beginning of the 20th century to 19 13, Jimad * * designed more than 140 entrances for Paris subway station. Plant and animal patterns, vine patterns and rhythmic interwoven decorative curves form a unified and classic visual image of the French subway entrance, which is natural, romantic, curved and elegant.

Germad also designed many other buildings and furniture, and was also a prolific painter with more than 2,000 paintings.

Although Jimad has designed many buildings, he is really a sad designer. Not only did he not have his own museum, but the magnificent concert building he designed, the entrance of Metrau station, including most large exhibition halls, was demolished. The only thing that is well preserved is the entrance of the Crown Princess subway, and the rest that can be seen now are reconstructed.

It can be seen that the nature and curve of Gemade's new art style are far from the norms of modernism and the pure minimalist style. However, Gemade has actually made some efforts in building prefabricated components. He has tried prefabricated ceramic decorative boards, roof tile building components and cast iron standard parts for subway entrance. These components were later listed as standard parts in the product catalogue by various manufacturers.

In the 1920s and 1930s of 19, Jimad's design career reached a low point. Influenced by World War II, Jimad settled in the United States with his Jewish wife on 1939, and died in new york four years later at the age of 75.

Today, when the world is full of modernist minimalist skyscrapers, when we look back at Jimad's design, our hearts will be extremely happy and warm. It is his design that makes our hearts a typical French romance.
