There are several towns in Pinghe County.

By the end of June 20 19, Pinghe county had 16 townships (fields), namely:

Xiaoxi Town, Shan Ge Town, Wenfeng Town, Nansheng Town, Banzai Town, Anhou Town, Daxi Town, Xiazhai Town,

Jiu Feng Town, Luxi Town, Wuzhai Township, Guoqiang Township, Qiling Township, Changle Township, Xiufeng Township and Anhou Farm.

By the end of 1984, the people's commune was changed into a township (town). There are two towns in the county, Xiaoxi and Jiu Feng, and Chengguan, Shan Ge, Banzai, Nansheng, Wuzhai, Guoqiang, Anhou, Daxi, Changle, Qiling, Luxi, Xiazhai and Wenfeng 13 townships. * * * governs 7 neighborhood committees and 253 villages. On August 4th, 1987, Chengguan Township was merged into Xiaoxi Town. There are 2 towns in the county, 12 townships.

On June 24th, 1990, Shan Ge Township and Nansheng Township were changed into towns. At the end of the year, there were 4 towns (Xiaoxi, Jiu Feng, Shan Ge and Nansheng) and 10 townships (Wenfeng, Banzai, Wuzhai, Guoqiang, Anhou, Daxi, Xiazhai, Luxi, Qiling and Changle) in the county, which governed 10 neighborhood committees and 239 villages.

1997 Pinghe county covers an area of 2,328.6 square kilometers, with a population of 523,000, and governs 5 towns 10. The county government is located in Xiaoxi Town.

At the time of the fifth census in 2000, the total population of the county was 532,649. Among them: Xiaoxi Town 8 1825, Shan Ge Town 4369 1, Wenfeng Town 18904, Nansheng Town 267 14, Banzi Town 400 1 1, and Anhou Town 53230. Wuzhai Township 17026, Guoqiang Township 2 1328, Qiling Township 24 135, Changle Township 10797 and Xiufeng Township 15660.
