The film tells the story of Lee Chandler taking care of his nephew as a guardian after his brother died of illness. The film won the top ten films of American Film Association in 20 16. Lee Chandler? (Kathy Affleck) is a man of few words, doing all kinds of chores endlessly in Boston. But this seems to be just an excuse for him to escape from the past and hide his sadness. Even when he received the news that his beloved brother Joe (kyle chandler) died of a heart attack, his grave face didn't add more sadness. When he returns to Manchester, his hometown abandoned for many years, he finds himself the guardian of his nephew Patrick (lucas hedges). Lee Chandler doesn't want to move back to his hometown with too many memories, and his nephew Patrick doesn't want to abandon his life and friends and run away with Lee.
