Customs and habits of Chinese New Year in Hai 'an

Traditional Spring Festival custom in Hai 'an;

Send the stove:

On this day, every household should "send stoves" and "offer sacrifices to stoves" and prepare some fruit sacrifices, hoping that the kitchen god will eat something sweet and pray for him? God speaks well, and there is peace in the next world. "

Because Master Jujube is in China's fairy tales. Not only is he in charge of the kitchen diet, but he is also an official sent to the world to inspect good and evil. Therefore, on this day, we must treat the chef well. In the past, every household respected the chef in the earthen stove, but now many people respect the gas stove without the earthen stove, which shows the importance of the chef.

Dust:

The closer the Chinese New Year is, the busier the family is. From the end of the twelfth lunar month, every household began to clean up one after another, tying brooms to long bamboo poles and dusting off dust and cobwebs on the four corners of roofs and walls.

This is an activity full of implications, because in Hai 'an dialect, "dust" and "Chen" are homophonic, so it is also called "dust removal", which means to dust off "bad luck". When I was a child, this activity required the whole family to go out, adults to dust, and children to help scrub tables and chairs, and choose a good weather to take out all the quilts at home to dry. Let's clean the house together, so that we can bid farewell to the old and welcome the new.

Prepare new year's goods:

Don't underestimate the preparation of new year's goods. This is hard work. During the Chinese New Year, all major markets and supermarkets began to do activities. Candy, melon seeds, peanuts and other essential dried fruit snacks for the New Year came to buy buy to buy them, and the children at home cried.

Wear new clothes:

When I was a child, even if the living conditions at home were not very good, my parents would prepare a new suit for everyone before the Spring Festival, because it was a special sense of ceremony for the New Year. Basically, everyone will choose red clothes with a new haircut years ago, which are brand-new from head to toe. I wish you good luck in the coming year.

Post Spring Festival couplets:

There is also a famous cultural activity during the Spring Festival, that is, posting Spring Festival couplets at home. The place where the Spring Festival couplets are posted is very particular. For example, it is attached to a water tank, symbolizing that there are more fish every year, and it is attached to a rice shop, symbolizing a bumper harvest.

Eat New Year's Eve:

On New Year's Eve, of course, the whole family will get together and have a big dinner. New Year's Eve is not simple. Every dish contains a good moral. Eggs and dumplings are shaped like gold ingots, which means making money. You don't need CDs to eat fish, and there are fish (surplus) every year.

The Origin of China New Year;

According to legend, there was a young man named Wan Nian in ancient times. Seeing that the festivals at that time were chaotic, he had an accurate plan. But he couldn't find a way to calculate the time. One day, he was tired of chopping wood up the mountain and sat in the shade to rest. The movement of the shadow inspired him. He designed a sundial to measure time.

Measuring the time of a day, later, inspired by the dripping spring water on the cliff, he began to make a five-layer clepsydra to calculate the time. Over time, he found that every 360 days, the four seasons would cycle once, and the length of the weather would be repeated.

At that time, the monarch was called Zu Ti, who was often troubled by the unpredictable weather. Ten thousand years later, he took the sundial and the clepsydra to see the emperor and explained to Zu Ti the truth about the movement of the sun and the moon.

Zu Ti was very happy after hearing this and felt reasonable. So I left for ten thousand years and built the Sun and Moon Pavilion in front of the Temple of Heaven, as well as the sundial platform and the Leaky Pot Pavilion. I hope I can accurately measure the laws of the sun and the moon, calculate the exact time in the morning and evening, and create a calendar to benefit people all over the world.

On one occasion, Zu Ti went to learn about the progress of the perpetual calendar. When he boarded the altar of the sun and the moon, he saw a poem engraved on the stone wall next to the Temple of Heaven:

Sunrise and sunset 360, start all over again. Vegetation is divided into four seasons, and there are twelve circles in a year.

Knowing that the perpetual calendar was created, I personally boarded the Sun Moon Pavilion to visit the perpetual calendar. Wan Nian pointed to the astronomical phenomena and said to Zu Ti, "It's been twelve months now, the old year has passed and the new year has begun again. Please make a festival for you. " Zu Ti said, "Spring is the first year of a year, so let's call it Spring Festival". It is said that this is the origin of the Spring Festival.
