The Historical Origin of the Former Hong Kong Marine Police Headquarters

As early as 1842, "Jiulong West 1 Battery" was set up, but it was abandoned before 1854. 1884, the hong kong police built the marine police headquarters building at the site of the battery. The building is two or three stories high, with Victorian architectural features, and there is a stable shared by Tsim Sha Tsui Police Station. There is also a two-story time tower in the south of the building, which is the place to tell the time before the opening of the 1907 signal mountain time tower. After the time telling device was removed, it was changed into a marine police exhibition hall. During the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong, it was once the naval headquarters of the Japanese army.

The marine police headquarters building has been in use until 1996. After several years of vacancy, the government handed over the building to Changjiang Industry, and converted it into a cultural hotel on the premise of retaining the original building.
