Where is the fun in Quanzhou?

Quanzhou, also known as Licheng, Erythrina and Wenling, is located on the southeast coast of Fujian Province and the west bank of Taiwan Strait. Surrounded by mountains and seas, rich cultural landscapes, unique folk customs and natural scenery in the southeast complement each other, making Quanzhou a national and even international tourist attraction, known as "Zou Lu on the seashore" and "Penglai in southern Fujian".

First, Kaiyuan Temple

Kaiyuan Temple is located in West Street, Licheng District, Quanzhou City. It was built in the second year of the Tang Dynasty when Wu Zetian listed the square. Formerly known as "Lotus Temple", it has a history of 1300 years. It is an important cultural relic along the southeast coast of China and the largest Buddhist temple in Fujian Province.

Kaiyuan Temple

The buildings of Kaiyuan Temple on the central axis include Tianwang Temple, Baiting Pavilion, Baiting Hall, Daxiong Hall, Sangpeng Historic Site, Ganlu Tan Jie, and Sutra Pavilion. Besides, there are two towers and two corridors on the east and west sides. Dongxi Pagoda is the most famous scenic spot in Dakaiyuan Temple, with Zhenguo Pagoda in the east and Renshou Pagoda in the west. It is the tallest pair of stone pagodas in China and a symbol of Quanzhou ancient city.

Second, Qingyuan Mountain

Qingyuan Mountain, also known as Beishan Mountain, Quanshan Mountain, Yun Qi Mountain and Santai Mountain, is located in the northern suburb of Quanzhou, about 3 kilometers away from downtown Quanzhou, and is a landmark scenic spot in Quanzhou. Qingyuan Mountain is not too high, about 500 meters above sea level. It was first developed in the Qin Dynasty. In the Tang Dynasty, "Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism" competed to occupy land, so there are various relics of "Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism" in the scenic spot, and there are many cliff stone carvings in previous dynasties. Qingyuanshan

The biggest highlight of Qingyuan Mountain is Laojunyan, a stone statue of Laozi at the foot of the mountain. It is lifelike and has a history of thousands of years. This is the largest, best carved and oldest Taoist stone carving in China. There is also the pagoda of Hongyi, a master whose ancestral home is in southern Fujian.

Third, Chongwu Ancient City

Chongwu Ancient City is located in the southeast coast of Hui 'an County, Quanzhou City, adjacent to the Taiwan Province Strait. It is a castle built by Xiahou Zhou Dexing to resist the Japanese invaders in the 20th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1387). It is the only existing stone city of Ming Dynasty in China, and it is also a relatively complete ancient relic in the history of coastal defense in China.

Chongwu Ancient Town

The house in Chongwu ancient city is not made of red bricks, but a whole square stone. Therefore, although it is very old, the stone walls are still intact. Climb up the ancient city wall and stand on the tallest lighthouse, you can clearly see the outline of the whole ancient city wall. It can see the wide channel.

Fourth, West Street.

West Street, located in the center of Quanzhou, is the earliest developed street and area in Quanzhou. It has been quite prosperous since the Song Dynasty. It is the most complete existing ancient block in Quanzhou, with a large number of ancient buildings with archaeological value and celebrity anecdotes and folklore attached to them. It can be called China Architecture Museum.

West street

The architecture of West Street not only contains the rich historical and cultural accumulation of the ancient city, but also tells the great changes of the ancient city in the past hundred years, such as Kaiyuan Temple, East West Tower, downtown tower, celebrity residence and modern foreign buildings. In addition, a large number of unique ancient buildings and antique wooden buildings have been preserved.

V. Jing Qing Temple

Jing Qing Temple, located in the middle of Tumen Street in Licheng District, Quanzhou City, is the earliest Islamic temple in China. Founded in the Northern Song Dynasty, it was rebuilt by Iranian Ahmed in A.D. 1309. It is modeled after the Islamic church in Damascus, Syria. It is a historical witness to the friendly exchanges and cultural exchanges between the Chinese and Arab peoples.

Jing Qing Temple

The main existing buildings of Jing Qing Temple are the gatehouse, Fengtian Temple and Mingshan Temple. The appearance of the gate building is the traditional Arab Islamic architectural style. On the west side behind the temple gate is the Temple of Heaven, also known as the Hall of Worship, which was originally the place where Muslims worshipped, leaving only four walls at present. To the north of the Temple of Heaven is the Mingshan Hall, which is now a place to give lectures.

Sixth, Luoyang Bridge

Luoyang Bridge is located on Luoyang River in the northeast suburb of Quanzhou, about 5 kilometers away from Quanzhou city. Originally known as "Wan 'an Bridge", it was built in the fifth year of Song Dynasty (1053) and completed in the fourth year of Song Dynasty (1059), with a history of more than 900 years. It is the earliest existing cross-sea bridge in China, and it is also known as the four famous bridges in ancient China along with Beijing Lugou Bridge, Hebei Zhao Zhouqiao Bridge and Guangdong Guangji Bridge.

Luoyang Bridge is 73.29 meters long and consists of stones. The whole bridge has 44 piers, 104 stone lions and 7 stone pagodas.
