Have you seen the floating villages in Brunei? A day trip by car will show you this low-key and mysterious small country.

Besides Chun Wu's hometown and The Empire Brunei, the mysterious and low-key country of Brunei is best known. What other scenic spots do you know?

In fact, the world's largest high-rise water village is also here in Brunei, and Kampong Ayer Brunei, known as "Venice of the East", is one of the must-see spots in Brunei.

It has a history of over 1,3 years, and was built by dozens of villages along the Brunei River. The basic facilities here are perfect, including police station, fire station, school, mosque and so on ~

In addition to the historical log cabin on the water, recently, due to the development, more advanced cement houses have appeared here ~ The main means of transportation here is the water taxi, that is, the boat ~

Because I live in Miri Malaysia, next to Brunei, it takes about two and a half hours to drive. Natural travel to Brunei has become commonplace.

Sometimes, in order to go to Brunei for a meal of sushi with Excapade Japanese cuisine, and sometimes in order to transfer back to China, I park my car at Brunei Airport for a few days, which feels as convenient as visiting my neighbor's house.

When taking advantage of holidays, I will take my wife and children to visit the house by car. Besides filling up the car with oil and preparing simple snacks and water, I have to apply for entry and exit permit and vehicle driving license online in advance when I enter Brunei by land (I want to leave a message in the comments section for more details).

In addition, we need to exchange some currency in advance for customs use (the entry and exit fee is 3 currency per person, one way), and then we started our self-driving tour of Brunei's water village ~

Our first stop came to the museum of the water village. Although the sparrows are small and complete, although there are several administrators here, they won't come to explain to us, even if they ask them. What I get is only a perfunctory attitude ~ it would be better if I improved this a little. Otherwise, it will be a bit of a waste of this museum ~

Kampong Ayer Museum Water Village Museum

Business Hours: 9. am-5. pm (daily)

Every Friday, 11.am-2.3pm is Muslim prayer time. Therefore, it will be temporarily closed here.

There is a tall tower next to the museum. When you come to the top, you can overlook the whole scenery of the Brunei River, and you can also see the hotels and shops on the opposite side ~

After coming out of the museum and walking in, you will come to a T-junction. Turning right is a traditional water house, and turning left is a modern water house, which is a world of difference. If they live in a floating house, the Brunei government will also give them a subsidy ~

The luxurious semi-independent mansion in the water village, which is their own yacht when they open the door and see no garage.

We looked at the water house here like a duck, so we got on the boat and used the boat instead of walking to visit this huge water village.

If you want to visit the water village, you can bargain with the boatman. Maybe you can take a trip to Venice in the East at a very low price!

Life here is very new to us. This is the first time we have seen a water police station, a water fire station, a water school and so on.

All the means of transportation here are replaced by boats, such as fire boats, police boats, and so on. Even the school bus has become a school boat here ~

We are even lucky enough to visit the local people's home, and the wooden ladder that waddles 9 straight down into the river makes us feel a little timid. But when I saw my son go up in three steps and make two steps, I thought I was thinking too much ~ it was not as good as my son ~ haha ~

Only after coming up did I know that I could still buy iced coffee here to relieve the summer heat ~ My wife talked with the boss's wife, only to find out that their house sold some iced drinks, and the boss's wife enthusiastically let us visit their house to satisfy our curiosity ~

The boss's house was beautifully decorated. There was a feeling of a bride's room, and many glittering decorations were used, which completely subverted the feeling of the appearance of the room ~

After a turn, we went straight to the destination, which was to go deep into the Brunei River to find the sight of the long-nosed ape (the favorite of the two sons).

I heard from friends that I wanted to see these animals by luck ~ Before I saw these animals, we were attracted by this very well-protected Brunei River. There was no floating garbage on the water, and even there were few boats carrying tourists, which gave us many opportunities to take photos of "the land of the sky" ~

In fact, the Brunei government protects the ecological environment here. Their people also cherish the environment here, so it hasn't been destroyed ~

Just after we began to feel a little tired of the beautiful scenery in front of us, we began to pray silently, hoping that our luck would be a little better, and let's see the traces of those animals.

Suddenly, the boatman slowed down and slowly approached the river bank on the left, telling us that we had finally arrived at the home of the gibbon, and told us not to make any noise ~ Let's look for the trail of the proboscis carefully ~

But our eyesight is really not very good, and we can't find anything at all. Even our boat has docked at the mangrove forest on the right. We still can't find them ~ we have to rely on the boatman to show them to us, so we can barely see them ~ The tour guide told us that they are thin-skinned and afraid of strangers approaching them, so once they perceive that someone is too close to them, they will go higher ~

We can only sneak a peek at them, so most of my photos are their backs ~ They are very sensitive to the surrounding environment. A little noise is enough to make them alert, or even flee in a hurry ~ but it is enough to meet them ~

The boatman told us that their main food source is the tender leaves of these mangroves, so they tried to attract them with the tender leaves of mangroves and let them get closer to our ships, but unfortunately, their faces were really too thin. At last, they kept some distance from us strangers ~

The "meeting" with the proboscis monkey was too attractive, so it was near evening when the meeting ended, and the boatman quickly urged us to leave ~ The proboscis monkey Malaysia can also see it, so we will take professional equipment to shoot it next time.

On our way to Jiadong Night Market, we met the local people who were practicing dragon boat rowing. The boatman slowed down our boat speed in order not to let the wave affect their practice ~ I thought they would only practice in the evening, but I didn't expect that they were still practicing when we came back at night ~

You can also come to the night market by car or on foot. This time, I experienced something different. It seems that I have never seen a boat trip to Gadong Night Market like us. This kind of experience can be regarded as an unexpected surprise ~

On the way, we passed the back garden of the palace, but this time we took a different approach and passed the back garden of the palace by boat. Fortunately, we can see the back of the Palace ~

As night falls, we finally arrive at Jiadong Night Market ~ Before landing, we agreed with the boatman that we would go back to Brunei River to see wild fireflies after eating and drinking, so after about an hour and a half, we had to wait for the boatman to take us back (another test of the integrity of both sides) ~

Although it was completely dark outside, However, the night market in Jiadong is still full of people. The cries of vendors, children's frolicking, customers' trading, diners' chewing, and all kinds of voices make up the symphony that is shown in the night market in Jiadong every day ~

To be honest, although the scale here is not small, it is a little small for me who live in Malaysia. After all, there are many Malay Ramadan markets and night markets (Pasar Malam) in Malaysia, which are much larger than here, and there is a feeling of being dwarfed ~

The taste of food in Brunei is very close to that of Malaysian Malay food, and many snacks look the same as those in Malaysia. Just changed its name ~

Gadong Night Market Jiadong Night Market:

Address: Simpang37, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei

business hours: 3. pm-1. pm (daily)

After eating, we took the original boat and boatman to look for fireflies. The boatman told us that the fireflies here were wild and unknown to tourists, so we were the first passengers he took to see fireflies. He also secretly told us that he had no idea that the original tourists would be interested in fireflies. )

We walked back to the river where we saw the long-nosed apes this afternoon. During the day, we let go of our hearts and enjoyed the beautiful scenery, but at night, we were afraid that crocodiles would come out of nowhere during the day ~

I don't know how long it took, and I don't know how far it sailed. At last, the boatman slowly sailed to the mangrove forest on the side, and the guide asked us to pay attention. See where there are fireflies ~ This time, we finally found fireflies without being prompted by the boatman. Looking at the shiny "little light bulb", we knew that they were playing a chasing game ~

There are not as many fireflies here as I saw in China when I was a child, but they are better than those in foreign countries, and they are all wild. The most important thing is that we are the only boat in the whole river, so we can enjoy them. I don't worry that it will hinder others at all ~

The price of the boatman for half a day is about RM1, which I personally think is quite worthwhile. At least I can see everything I should see, and there are even many unexpected gains ~

The Empire Brunei)~ Hotel is located in Jerudong, 4 minutes' drive from the airport. Covering an area of about 188 hectares, the hotel is a hotel resort integrating hotels, resorts and golf courses. It can almost be said that one of the reasons why many people admire Brunei (lucky enough, they can also meet the stars who come on vacation _).

It's only a luxury to rub a friend's discount this time. As soon as I entered the gate, I was dazzled by the glittering hall. White marble columns supported the whole hall. The hall was designed in an open way, allowing light to shine directly into the room through the glass window, and at the same time, I could enjoy the endless sea view.

This hotel was specially built for the national guests of Brunei royal family and kingdom, and now it is also open to tourists. Interior decoration decorated with gold, artificial Beach Pool, spacious bathroom/bathtub made of marble, and high-quality afternoon tea in Lounge. Sultans Of Brunei's money is willful, but it's not built!

I'm too tired to take photos at night, so I'll send you some beautiful pictures during the day.

It's rare to come to this low-key and luxurious country. Even if you don't stay in this hotel, don't miss the experience of one of the most luxurious hotels in the world! You can arrange to have afternoon tea here, take photos and watch the sunset, and feel this magnificent hotel is also good ~

Besides renting a car, driving by car or chartered car, you can come to this Imperial Hotel. You can also book the hotel's airport shuttle service (the fee is BND 35)~

Tips:

The traffic here is inconvenient, so it is recommended to discuss the return time with the taxi driver

If you just want to take photos and punch in, it is recommended to come here in the evening, and the sunset here is really beautiful!
