Winning the Magic Award

While his peers were still playing hide-and-seek games, Liu Qian was already lingering in front of the magic toy counters in major stores, learning his favorite magic. When Liu Qian was 12 years old, because he reported to the magic counter every day and bought a lot of magic props, he made friends with Tang Wenlong, who was in charge of the magic props counter. Tang Wenlong's counter is always crowded with curious little boys like Liu Qian.

In 1987, Tang Wenlong told Liu Qian about the children's magic competition and encouraged Liu Qian to participate in that competition.
