Legend of the Yellow Crane Tower
According to the Records of Jiangxia County, there was a man named Xin who made a living by selling wine. One day, a tall, ragged guest came and asked Xin calmly, "Can I have a drink?" Xin didn't neglect each other's rags, and quickly filled a large glass of wine. After half a year, Xin didn't show boredom because the guests couldn't afford the drinks, and still invited the guests to drink every day. One day, the guest told Xin's family, "I owe you a lot of money for drinks, and I can't afford it." So I took out the orange peel from the basket and drew a crane on the wall. Because the orange peel is yellow, the painted crane is yellow. As long as the people in the seat clap their hands and sing, the yellow crane on the wall will dance and beat with the song, and the guests in the hotel will pay for this wonderful thing.
After more than ten years, Xin has accumulated a lot of wealth. One day, the ragged guest drifted to the hotel again, and Xin came forward to thank him and said, I am willing to support you and meet all your needs. The guest replied with a smile, where did I get this? Then he took out his flute and played some songs. Soon, I saw white clouds falling from the sky. The yellow crane followed Bai Yunfei to the guest, who climbed the yellow crane's back and went to heaven in Bai Yunfei. In order to thank and commemorate this guest, Xin built a castle on Huangqiyan with the money he earned in ten years. At first, people called it "Xin's Building". Later it was called "Yellow Crane Tower".
Brief introduction of Yellow Crane Tower
The Yellow Crane Tower is located at the top of Wuchang Snake Mountain on the south bank of the Yangtze River in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, close to the Yangtze River. It is a national 5A-level tourist attraction, and has been known as "the first building in the world" and "the first scenery in the world" since ancient times. The Yellow Crane Tower is a landmark building in Wuhan, and it is also called "the three famous places of interest in Wuhan" with Qingchuan Pavilion and Guqintai.
The Yellow Crane Tower was built in the Three Kingdoms Period in the second year of Wu (AD 223). During the Three Kingdoms period, it was just a "military building" in the corner of Xiakou City. After the Jin Dynasty destroyed Dongwu, the three countries were unified. At the same time, the building lost its military value, and with the development of Jiangxia city, it gradually evolved into an ornamental building for officials and businessmen. Cui Hao, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, wrote the poem Yellow Crane Tower on this topic, and Li Bai wrote The Yellow Crane Tower Farewell to Meng Haoran here. Literati and poets of all ages left many poems here, which made the Yellow Crane Tower famous throughout the ages.
The Yellow Crane Tower is located at the top of the snake at an altitude of 6 1.7 meters, and the trains of Beijing-Guangzhou Railway roared downstairs. The building is five stories high, with a total height of 5 1.4m and a building area of 32 19m 2. The Yellow Crane Tower is supported by 72 columns, with 60 upturned corners extending outward, and the roof is covered with 654.38+ million layers of yellow glazed tiles.
Outside the Yellow Crane Tower, a number of ancillary buildings such as bronze yellow crane modeling, statue pagoda, memorial archway and porch pavilion set off the main building more magnificently. There are also Baiyun Pavilion, ivory tower, stele gallery, mountain gate and other buildings around the main building. The whole building has a unique national style and exudes the spirit, temperament and charm of China traditional culture. It complements the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge at the foot of the Snake Mountain. When you climb the building, you can see the scenery of three towns in Wuhan.
