Due to the breakdown of Sino-Soviet relations and the adjustment of the national economic plan caused by the three-year natural disaster, the development plan of the new ship is at a standstill, but with the efforts of the navy, the development of key equipment of the new ship, such as steam main engine power plant, double 130 naval gun and 903 alloy steel for ship, continues.

The navy proposed to develop and design a new type of warship with reference to part of the data of Type 56, code-named "05 1", and plans to finalize the design around 1975. 1966, the State Council and the Central Military Commission made unified arrangements to launch the Dongfeng -5 intercontinental missile test mission (Project 580, 7 18), and the missile destroyer 05 1 officially resumed development as a supporting product of Project 7 18.

By the end of 199 1, the construction of the last destroyer 05 1G2 was completed, and the destroyer 17 was built, making it the largest destroyer built since the founding of New China.

05 1 destroyer is developed on the basis of USSR Type 56 "Ke Triem" class destroyer, and its ship type and superstructure layout are basically similar. V-shaped bow, Gao Qian side, flat deck, hull length-width ratio of 10.3, low navigation resistance, high speed, similar to "Ke Triem" class.

The power plant of 05 1 ship is two 453 steam turbines and four 73/64 oil-fired steam boilers, with a total power of 72,000 HP, two shafts and two paddles, and the speed at full power can be as high as 36 knots (even 39 knots were recorded during the trial, which was dubbed as "large assault missile boat"). There are 15 watertight compartments on board, which can ensure that any three adjacent compartments will not sink. The fin stabilizer is installed in the lower part of the hull, which can ensure normal navigation in 8-9 sea conditions, normal use of ship-to-ship missiles in 6 sea conditions, and normal use of weapons and equipment of the whole ship in 5 sea conditions.

1977, the navy decided to develop the 05 1Z command ship (z stands for command) in order to cooperate with the intercontinental missile flight test and marine survey mission to be carried out in 1980 and to command and investigate the fleet and escort formation in a unified way.

The main purpose of the command ship is to enhance the communication function, increase the formation command room, and have multi-channel and ultrashort wave communication capabilities. 05 1Z type first ship132 (named "Hefei" ship in1986) was started at Shanghai Zhonghua Shipyard on February 1977. 1June 1979, the second destroyer 051z; That is, the fifth ship of 05 1 built by Shanghai Zhonghua Shipyard; The 15th of all ships 05 1 started construction, with the ship number 1 10.

The ship was officially signed and delivered to the North Sea Fleet on February 26th, 1984, and was officially named Dalian Ship in 1986.

From 65438 to 0988, Dalian Ship, as the backbone of the navy, participated in the military struggle in the South China Sea and was on duty there for six months. From the ship layout, 05 1 destroyer still follows the ship type of World War II, with relatively weak defense capability against air and submarine, unsatisfactory communication and electronic warfare performance, and lagging behind the world's advanced ships in technical level and operational performance. However, for China's shipbuilding industry, it ended the history of China's naval vessels being imported and copied from foreign countries, and provided a solid foundation for China's naval operations to extend from inshore to inshore and China.

Since the 20th century, China's naval vessels have developed rapidly, just like "handing over". Old warships can no longer meet the needs of military reform in the new period. On the morning of 20 19, 15, the first-generation domestic guided missile destroyer Kaifeng, Dalian, Zunyi and Guilin were retired at the same time.

The retirement of these four ships indicates that the first generation 05 1 guided missile destroyers have all withdrawn from the naval equipment sequence.
