As a student representative, he studied at South China People's College of Literature and Art in Guangzhou. Three months later, he was sent to Zhongshan County to collect grain and rectify the farmers' association, and then he was sent to the pilot task force of land reform, serving as the missionary of the Land Commission and the leader of the Thousand Workers' Corps.
