Lincuo
Lincuo, meaning "Devil's Lake" in Tibetan, is the largest lake in Tibet and the largest in the world. Black-necked Crane Nature Reserve. Heading north from Shenzha County, past Brother and Sister Town, you can see the sea-like Cailin Cuo. There is a long way to go along the lake. If time permits, you can consider camping by the lake, find an angle you like, and slowly feel the changes in the lake water over time. We chose to camp on the hillside by the lake. From an overlooking angle, we can feel the magnificence of Serincuo. The island in the middle of the lake has a unique shape, and you can tell at a glance that it is an island with wrong colors. In less than a day, the scenery of the lakes and mountains here keeps changing and is breathtakingly beautiful. From the warmth in the afternoon to the heavy rain in the evening, from the rainbow after the rain to the starry sky at night, from the silence in the morning to the heat at noon, the colors of the lake are different and can be described as colorful.
Angcuo
Take the S301 from Serincuo to Nyima County on the Ali North Line. After resting and replenishing supplies, head south along S205 to Angtsecuo. Few people come to this lake, so this road is relatively lonely. As soon as you leave Nyima County, you can see the sister lakes Gemang Fault and Zhangnai Fault. S205 passes between two lakes, followed by a long dirt road. It was not until the afternoon that Angela's mistake became apparent. It is not as stunning as other lakes, but it has a rare tranquility, like a treasure hidden in a boudoir. A group of Tibetan wild donkeys run freely under the sunset by the lake. That painting is deeply imprinted in my mind. You can also see Jiagu Township not far away, which is the only township nearby.
When Ren Yongcuo
This lake has many scenes in the documentary "The Third Pole" and is somewhat famous. Especially in the Wenbunan Village area, you will encounter many tourists. The road from Angzi to Dangyong is almost an adventure. There are no villages or road signs along the way. You rely on GPS and compass to find your way, and even drones. I took the wrong road n times, going back and forth, and saw the lake in the distance, but I couldn't cross it. When I was ready to give up and come back, I finally hit the road. If you choose this route, you still need relatively rich experience to judge the direction.
When you reach the southern end of the lake, you can walk north along the east coast of the lake and finally reach Wenbunan Village at the northern end. This dirt road is not marked on the map, so you can follow the footsteps of the locals. The road is long enough to enjoy the views. For a whole day, you will drive along the lake, which is undoubtedly the most memorable lake viewing route in the entire route. When the harmonious color changes emerge endlessly, you will be amazed again and again without feeling tired at all. Along the way, there are also Zhangzhung ruins and Yuben Temple to visit.
Dangqiongcuo
Dangqiongcuo is a small lake on the back of Dangyongcuo. Its area is only about one-tenth of Dangyongcuo, but the landscape is no less impressive. Nestled beside the lake is Wenbu Township, a landscape that looks less like Wenbunan Village and more like a miniature version of its missteps with the Party. The most important thing is that there is a private gas station here. The gasoline is returned from Nirmala, but there is no guarantee of gasoline supply every day. It depends on your luck.
Zhanan Mucho
Compared with other lakes, Zhanan Mucho seems to be more popular with tourists. It is the third largest lake in Tibet. It is very dark in color and the islands extending to the center of the lake draw beautiful curves on the lake. In ancient times, its area was much larger than today. When driving along the lake, you can see traces of the changes in the lake basin on the mountains.
At present, there is a visitor center and observation deck in Zharinanmucuo. The road along the lake near Cuoqin is still a cement road and the road condition is good. In addition, a trip to Zhaznanmucuo will still make you feel like an adventure. After filling up the tank, we drove along the asphalt road on the northern line of Ali to Asu Township, from where we could reach Zhazinamcuo via Juncang. This is the only possible route on the map, destined to be full of challenges and unknowns. The locals advised us not to walk this road alone as it was very dangerous. Along the way, we experienced traffic jams, lost our way, kept looking back, and had the urge to give up many times. In the end, it took us a day and a half to arrive in good weather, proving it was a feasible route. I think the best reward of this trip is that we met the Tibetan antelope, a mysterious and sacred creature.
Ta Ruo Cuo
Unexpectedly, Taro’s road to Ta Ruo Cuo would be the most bumpy one. Starting from Cuoqin, the road was closed that day just to meet the Ali North Line. If you don't choose to wait where you are, you can only find another way. We chose to go from Cuoqin to Jiangrang Township, and then pass through Magui Township and Longga Township to Taruocuo. It's a very small lake and you can drive from one end of the lake to the other in ten minutes. The road by the lake is being built, and the tents where the workers live are not far from the lake. This lake, which they are accustomed to, is beautiful in our eyes. There are some small islands or very carved stones scattered in the lake, like an ink painting, which is also the symbolic existence of Tarocuo.
Zaya Chaka
This is the only salt lake on this line. This 235 square kilometer salt lake has the second highest lithium content in the world. There is a mining company stationed in the northwest corner of the Salt Lake, and you can see some mechanized work scenes. If you come from the wrong direction from Taro, you can drive along the south bank of the lake to the west bank. Looking at the lake, there is a bright flower. Only through the lens of a drone can you find the feeling of a mirror in the sky.
Renhsiu Bucuo
Unfortunately, it was cloudy in Renqing Xiubucuo. The snow-capped mountains are hidden behind the clouds, leaving only the gray lake water and the lonely shoreline. After the rain, the road was covered with puddles of all sizes. Although not as dramatic as the puddle we fell into, it needs to be passed carefully. You'll hardly encounter people or any living creatures along the way. When we arrived at Renduo Township on the east bank of the lake, it suddenly became lively. There are many people playing billiards along the street, and there are several hotels where you can stay. While purchasing food, I learned that the bridge leading to the Pa River was washed away by floods and would be impassable for a short period of time, so I had to temporarily change the route.
Angrencuo
Because the road is broken, almost all tourists return to the original route. In order not to go back, we plan to visit Aung La Rintso, which is not far from here. From the map, this is a very large lake with a very large island in it, accounting for almost one-tenth of the entire lake. It's not easy to find your way here. There are no signs on the road. It is best to ask for the route to Renduo Township. Because of the inconvenience, it is still a paradise and few people visit it. The protruding rocks in the lake were more special than those in Taro, so we chose to camp near them. The road from here to Pajang is still under repair and impassable. The last way out is to go north and change the rules. The path will be hard to discern at first, and until you are not far from change there is no clear path. Fortunately, the road was no longer clogged with traffic, and we safely reached the end of our trip—a change of rules.
: Notes
1. The driving route should be clear:
Before getting off the bus, you must plan the driving route in advance so that you are aware of it, but do not May know the condition of highways across the country. This is when you need to use the road traffic atlas. The choice of transportation atlas is important. The data of most traffic atlases currently on the market cannot keep up with the development of highways, so there are often situations where there are no highways but there are actually highways. Pay attention to the selection of the latest information in the transportation atlas. It is best to mark towns and villages, and the urban transportation map should be as detailed as possible. It would be even better if the basic traffic laws of each city could be marked. In addition, choose a reasonable vehicle-mounted GPS device. With the popularity of vehicle-mounted GPS devices, map and road information are becoming more and more complete. Vehicle-mounted GPS devices have become a very good device for self-driving travel. Using it with the map will make your self-driving trip very convenient.
2. Ensure the normal operation of the car handle:
Many car owners now know how to drive but not repair.
Once a car breaks down midway, drivers are often at a loss. Therefore, check the condition of the vehicle carefully before driving and ask a professional to repair it if necessary.
3. Accident handling:
On the road, adhere to the principle of courtesy first and safety first. If a traffic accident occurs, you must first remain calm, and secondly, take effective measures quickly and deal with the aftermath calmly. Understand some knowledge of rescue measures for traffic accidents and casualties, and master some experience and skills in dealing with the aftermath, so as to be prepared.
4. Driving in bad road conditions:
There are many obstacles, such as potholes and gravel, and you cannot drive too high. Otherwise, the vibration of the vehicle will intensify, which will not only cause damage to the vehicle's shock absorption system and driving system components, but also directly threaten driving safety. When there are potholes and rocks on the road, consider the ground clearance of the vehicle and carefully turn the steering wheel to avoid them; be especially careful when passing through soft, muddy, or waterlogged roads. Get off the vehicle and observe if necessary. When you are sure that the wheels will really not sink into the soil, you can put it in low gear and pass slowly.
5. Driving on mountain roads:
Mountain roads are characterized by long and steep slopes, narrow roads and steep slopes, and limited vision. When driving, you should always pay attention to the road conditions, make accurate turns, and change gears quickly. When passing dangerous roads near mountains, cliffs or rivers, keep speeds low and drive carefully. When turning, you should slow down and sound your horn.
6. Night driving:
Driving at night has worse visibility than during the day, so you must drive more carefully; cars will pay attention to non-motorized vehicles, pedestrians, and bicycles on the right. When the distance to the oncoming vehicle is 150m, the high beam should be changed to low beam. This is a guarantee of driving courtesy and driving safety.
