What are the consequences of using non-moisture-proof gypsum boards in hotel guest bathrooms?

If the hotel guest bathrooms use non-moisture-proof gypsum boards, mold will occur.

Since the main component of the material used in gypsum boards is gypsum, it is made with corresponding cellulose, and then matched with corresponding aggregates and glue. Generally, a layer of paper is impregnated on the surface of the gypsum board, eventually forming the common paper-faced gypsum board. However, after the gypsum board is soaked in water for a long time, the following problems will occur.

Problem ①: When the latex paint and putty layer on the surface get wet, it will cause the paper on the surface of the gypsum board to be soaked. Because although this layer of paper has a certain waterproof function, the waterproof function is only reflected on the surface of the paper. If water enters the inside of the paper, the paper will separate from the aggregate of the gypsum board. At this time, the putty layer on the top board will fall off, and the paper with the surface layer will appear. At the same time, because the aggregate is damp, the gypsum board deforms and then collapses downward.

Problem ②: Since our gypsum boards are assembled piece by piece during installation, cutting of the gypsum boards is inevitable. For the cutting parts of gypsum board, caulking gypsum is usually used for caulking. However, it is difficult for caulking gypsum to be waterproof, so when the moisture is high, water vapor will enter the caulking gypsum along these parts and eventually enter the interior of the gypsum board. The result after entering the inside of the gypsum board is that the inside of the gypsum board will get damp, and the gypsum board will deform and slowly separate from the keel.
