What exactly is a "bureau"

In the previous article, everyone shared the definition of management taught by Professor Ning of Tsinghua University. Management is to teach us how to break out of the situation.

"Bureau" is a term with very Chinese characteristics. It sounds confusing, but it actually exists.

So what exactly is a "bureau"? Listen to the master's definition of game: "Game" is the state and relationship of the interrelation and interaction between various resources around you.

Pay attention to the management term "resources" and don't understand it too narrowly. People are resources, things are resources, and reputation is also a resource (intangible resource). It can be said that everything around you is a resource. You may feel that some resources have nothing to do with you. That’s just because you haven’t found a connection point with them.

Let’s talk about the concept of “bureau”. As long as people want to do something, they will have a goal. With a goal, there is a direction. When you act in this direction, you will find yourself in a "game". Why? Because all the resources surrounding you are related to you. Some resources support you and you can control them. I call them "positive resources"; some resources block you and cannot be used by you. I call them "negative resources". The reason why people are trapped in a situation is that there are too many negative resources blocking you, and you cannot break out and achieve the predetermined goal. So you have to find a way to move the negative resources away and let yourself rush out. This is "breaking the situation". And deliberately setting up negative resources for others to make it difficult for them to get through, or making them have to go around in a roundabout way according to your wishes, is "making a game".

The first is to look for resources that have not entered your field of vision before. I call them "irrelevant resources", and then through the integration, addition and subtraction of positive and negative resources and irrelevant resources, you can complete the balance of negative and negative resources. Transform resources and find a way for yourself.

Teacher Ning gave such an example. The CEO of a certain paid-for-knowledge platform was originally from the advertising industry, and the resource most needed to break through in this industry was acquaintances. Why an acquaintance? Because people trust you, they will give you advertising business.

And those "customers" who have nothing to do with you and do not trust you are, in the final analysis, a negative resource, or at most a potential positive resource. The immediate idea of ??all advertisers is to attack these negative resources one by one and strive to convert them into positive resources. Maybe what you do every day is essentially the same.

But this CEO, she came up with a clever idea to use irrelevant resources to transform negative resources.

One day, she was passing by in the corridor of a hotel and heard the course "Strategic Management" being taught in the conference room. Twenty years ago, "Strategic Management" was still a very new course. She listened to a few words at the door and felt that the teacher taught well. Taking advantage of the lack of strict supervision, she slipped in and sat in the last row to listen to the class. Most people would leave after the lecture, but she didn't. She thought, "Maybe advertisers and entrepreneurs would be interested in what she listened to." So she went up to talk to the teacher. She asked the teacher where she could listen to the teacher's class again, and the teacher said: "This is an internal training for a foreign company, and I will not teach it to the public." Li Tiantian became even more excited when he heard this, because the internal training of a foreign company is rarely heard in the society. Less than. So she began to discuss with the teacher to provide in-house training for the advertising company where she worked.

When she returned to the company, she found a lot of business cards, all of which belonged to senior executives of large companies. Frankly speaking, these business cards can be said to be resources, but in fact they are useless resources, because when you call them, they will ignore you when they hear that they are advertising. Therefore, the vast majority are "negative resources". Therefore, a new way is needed to establish relationship channels with these negative resources, and at least let them take care of you. At this point, you may have guessed that we are going to convert resources in a way that seems unrelated to advertising. This added “irrelevant resource” is the training teacher and his strategic management course that only provides internal training for foreign companies.

She called one after another, not to invite people to advertise, but to invite people to attend classes. More than 20 entrepreneurs came and organized an in-house training class for an advertising company. The teacher taught the class well and the entrepreneurs were very happy. When she organized the training, she arranged it very thoughtfully and everyone was very satisfied. As a result, the entrepreneur gained trust in her, and the negative resources suddenly turned into positive resources. Once they became acquaintances, the advertisements came, and she used this to break out of the situation.

The above story talks about the first way to break the situation.

The second way to break the situation is to redefine “resources” and find a new way out.

7-11 is a famous supermarket chain in Japan. Around 2000, when it was looking for a business outlet, it used this idea to redefine resources. 7-11 has several characteristics. First of all, it is open 365 days a year and 24 hours a day; secondly, it sets up stores according to crowd density, which can maximize contact with customers and has location advantages; thirdly, it has accumulated experience in inventory, logistics, and information management. Decades of experience. Taking various factors into consideration, 7-Eleven felt that it needed to introduce a new product called "cash", which means introducing cash into stores and entering the ATM industry. In this way, all its advantages and resources are redefined and a new way out is found.

Now, every 7-11 store in Japan has at least one ATM machine, and the service is very good. Each machine breaks down at most once a year, and ordinary banks cannot compare with it. Later, 7-11 headquarters also established a 7 Bank specifically for this purpose, and it was successfully listed in 2008. When 7 Bank was first established, no one believed it would be profitable. However, because 7-11 has used its years of experience in managing the retail industry in innovative business, no other bank can compare with it now. Let me tell you the power of breaking through the situation with numbers. Because of this new business, 7-11's profit rate is as high as 30%, while the profit rate of department stores in the busiest areas of Tokyo is only 4% at most.

The third way to break the situation is to redefine yourself and dare to break yourself into pieces. Many negative resources cannot actually be moved away, but there are gaps in them. Therefore, only if you dare to break yourself into pieces, can you use a very small force to get out of the gaps of negative resources, and then reunite after getting out. , becoming a new self is also a way to break the situation.
