Strategy for diving in Tioman Island, Malaysia

For many people, diving in Tioman Island, Malaysia is full of temptations and challenges. Everyone can embrace the blue ocean wholeheartedly, swim with the water animals in the sea, and get closer to nature more truly. Here is a detailed travel guide for you.

Only after snorkeling on Rock Island, Ha Island, and Similan Islands, you will find that the underwater world is so fascinating.

Course: Padi Open Water

Location: Tioman Island, Malaysia

My dive shop is a Padi certified five-star dive shop, instructors and assistants They are all Chinese.

Dates: November 6th - November 9th (it is not recommended to go at this time due to the monsoon). Visibility was poor and there were strong winds and waves.

Price: RM1,279 (including food), only RM1,099.

Accommodation: RM480 ??(double room) It is cheaper to stay in a hotel.

Transportation: round-trip air ticket RM75

My mode of transportation: drive to Shengfeng Port Terminal (you can take a bus).

Parking fee at the pier: RM60 (RM15 per day)

The network is not good. Only Macian s and Celcom have 4G

Day 1: Watch video theory lessons to review questions and learn basic snorkeling skills.

Day 2: Spend the morning in calm waters practicing techniques and learning underwater gestures. (The next afternoon, we passed the exam without any notice.) The teaching assistant said that we would be more nervous if it was an exam.

The third day: There are still two projects to be tested, but the wind and waves were too strong that day, so I went diving in the afternoon.

Day 4: It was originally the day to go home. The night before, I met a friend who was working in Singapore and he asked us if we wanted to stay at FunDive for another day and we stayed.

Day 5: At 7:30 in the morning, the boat returns to Shengfeng Port Pier.

We all encountered turtles, puffer fish and sharks (which swam away immediately) and fish storms (small ones) even in poor visibility.

Conclusion: The coach and assistant coach are very good and super patient! I will not give lectures at the meeting, there is no airs at all, and students here can enjoy unlimited free shore diving.

Note: Since November to February is the monsoon season, Tioman Island will be closed in mid-November and will not open until March of the following year.
