Qatar Football Stadium Dimensions

Qatar football stadium dimensions are as follows:

Site: 105 meters long, 68 meters wide; area 7140 square meters.

Goal: 7.32 meters long and 2.44 meters high.

The penalty area (penalty area): 40.32 meters long, 16.5 meters wide, 16.5 meters away from the goal post on the bottom line.

Small penalty area (goal area): 18.32 meters long, 5.5 meters wide, 5.5 meters away from the goal post on the bottom line.

Qatar World Cup football stadiums

Qatar has prepared 8 stadiums for World Cup matches, namely: Lusail Stadium, Gulf Stadium, Education City Stadium, Ahmed ·Ben Ali Stadium, Khalifa International Stadium, Atumama Stadium, 974 Stadium, Janub Stadium.

Lousel Stadium

The Lusail Stadium is the venue for the World Cup finals. The design of the stadium is inspired by the interlacing pattern of light and shadow of traditional Arab lanterns. A number of advanced technologies were used in the construction process. Lusail Stadium can accommodate 80,000 people and hosted ten games during the Qatar World Cup. It is the stadium that hosted the most games during the World Cup. In addition to the six group matches, Lusail Stadium will also host the 1/8 finals, quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final.

Kalifa International Stadium

Kilifa International Stadium was built in 1976 and is the oldest football stadium in Qatar. It was renovated for the 2006 Asian Games. It has hosted the Asian Games, AFC Asian Cup, World Athletics Championships and Club World Cup, and is the home stadium of the Qatar national football team. The Khalifa International Stadium reopened after renovation in 2017 and can accommodate more than 40,000 spectators. During the World Cup, Khalifa Stadium will host six group matches, a round of 16 match and a third-place match.

Atumama Stadium

The design of Atumama Stadium is inspired by the woven bonnets often worn by men in the Middle East. This design presents the culture and tradition of the Arab region. Atumama Stadium can accommodate 40,000 spectators and will host six group matches, one round of 16 and one quarter-final during the World Cup. After the World Cup, the upper stands of the stadium will be transformed into a boutique hotel.

Gulf Stadium

The design of the Bay Stadium is inspired by the traditional tents used by nomads in the Bay area, with an openable and closable roof. The seats in the upper tier of the Gulf Stadium will be removed after the World Cup in Qatar and donated to developing countries in need of sports infrastructure. This stadium, which can accommodate 60,000 spectators, is the venue for the opening ceremony and opening match of the Qatar World Cup. During the World Cup, the Gulf Stadium will host six group matches, a round of 16 match, a quarter-final match and a semi-final match.

Education City Stadium

The Education City Stadium is located in Doha University City. It was built and opened in 2020 and has hosted the 2020 Qatar Club World Cup. It can accommodate 40,000 spectators and will host 6 group matches, one quarter-finals and one quarter-finals.

From the appearance, the design of the Education City Stadium combines traditional Islamic architectural style with modern elements. The rhombus pattern composed of many triangles changes color according to the angle of sunlight. It is called As "Diamond in the Desert".

Janub Stadium

Janub Stadium is 23 kilometers away from the center of Doha. It opened on May 16, 2019 and can accommodate 40,000 spectators. The design of Janub Stadium is inspired by the sails of Qatari wooden dhows, which were once an important pillar of Qatar's economic development. Extensive green space is being developed around Janub Stadium, and there will also be space for equestrian trails, running and cycling trails and a multi-purpose indoor arena.

974 Stadium

974 Stadium is the first completely dismantling stadium in the history of the FIFA World Cup. It is composed of 974 containers. This number is the same as Qatar’s international telephone area code. Built using shipping containers, movable seats and other modular "building blocks," the stadium's innovatively designed circular stadium seats will allow for natural ventilation without the need for air conditioning. During the World Cup, 974 Stadium will host six group matches and one top-16 match.

Ahmed Ben Ali Stadium

There was an old stadium on the original site of this stadium, and 90% of the materials were recycled and used to build this new stadium.

The brand-new Ahmed Ben Ali Stadium was put into use on December 18, 2020. It can accommodate 40,000 spectators. The stadium is located on the edge of the desert and is called the "Gate of the Desert". During the World Cup, the Ahmed Ben Ali Stadium will host six group matches and one round of 16 match. After the World Cup, the stadium will become the home ground of Laiyang Football Club.
