The architectural design was inspired by a sheep farm building in Patagonia.

Different from the important houses in the manor, the interior design of this hotel is very warm and local. In the houses built for shepherds' nomadic work, people live a Patagonian life every day, looking for their own glory. The barn here is used to dry sheepskin. Because of the cold wind, all other work in the manor must be done indoors.

People scattered in Patagonia left many traces, such as continuous fences and sheepdog huts.

Courtyard:

The empty courtyard in the center introduces Patagonia's endless scenery into the hotel.

The courtyard is the public area of the hotel. The two rooms surround the courtyard on three sides, and the main room at the back is slightly higher.

This courtyard looks very empty, except for some big stones distributed in it, but it is full of reverie: it seems to be dug out here to see the distant forest. It makes people see and think whether this is a clever or powerful culture, so that people can fully enjoy the life in Patagonia.

The main courtyard attracts people to leave the warm hotel and go for a walk in the wild without worrying about the cold and strong wind, so that people can remember the good things of the day.

Latin American culture

Latin American culture is about the relationship between man and nature, without the influence of streets and towns.

Latin America has a long tradition in architecture, that is, the philosophy of man in nature. Shepherds and businessmen can find directions or places to spend the night through local signs, and sometimes people gather here to celebrate their ancient rituals.

Nowadays, our culture can help modern travelers from big cities get close to nature and get rich and colorful experiences.

Travel is a special moment, which makes us go back to childhood again and feel fresh and curious about what happened, whether it is the external world or the inner world.

body

For me,

Buildings are not only shapes, but also materials for building them. I think architecture is an extra gift-a thought-provoking gift that can fill our so-called space. When a person is distracted, he often looks around aimlessly. At this time, our place leads us into a dream.

The hotel is like a big black barn emerging from a distance, flashing golden light at dawn or late at night. And some parts are full of light, through the vertical rhythmic glass window.

On the vast Patagonian plain, the hotel is a warm and warm place. Its elegance is hidden in the appearance of the working cabin, thus lowering the expectation of passengers in advance and making people enter the room to take a bath in unexpected glory.

The unexpected good side

This building tells us that traveling and strolling are to create an opportunity to discover unexpected things.

And find beauty in it. The exterior wall of the hotel is connected by a series of rhythmic vertical windows.

Building structure

We use concrete structures (columns, floors and interior walls) to ensure the privacy of the house and the fire resistance of the roof.

The structure is wrapped in a foot-thick polyurethane waterproof plywood. These panels are coated with synthetic asphalt film to ensure that the building has the best isolation performance to resist strong winds and heavy rains.

The asphalt film is covered with black gravel, which can protect it from ultraviolet rays.

Polyvinyl chloride double-layer thermostatic glass window forms a continuous vertical external wall opening.

scenery

Natural grass grows freely in Patagonia Plain.

There are some big stones in the yard, which emphasize the sense of emptiness and capture the sunshine at dawn and dusk.

The wild landscape of Patagonia plain also covered the roof. The roof concrete slab is also coated with the same synthetic asphalt film and two feet thick blanket grass.

There are three wooden walkways that connect three houses through shortcuts and cross the courtyard. Two walkways are covered and the other one is open. This walkway lowers the wooden wall into the boundary of the courtyard, and the straight line at the top of it forms a low horizon, which makes people admire the vastness of the grassland.

interior design

Interior design is closely related to outdoor design.

Patagonia's ever-changing light enters the building through a series of windows cut vertically. Then, around the large concrete column or wooden column, and the wooden scaffold under the ceiling, the wooden scaffold is hung on the concrete hanging plate.

The bright cloth on the dark wooden furniture captures the light.

The interior is equipped with rough Spartan geometric furniture, which was made by carpenters on the construction site and decorated with native dead trees. These trees come from the Lenga forest in Patagonia lowlands, close to the sea, where the trees are still flourishing.

Among all the furniture, hand-made furniture can be said to be the best, and these are the results of people's hand-made. It can be said that products without design results have no refined industrial quality.

From the floor to the ceiling, the guest room also has some wooden sleepers (large Lenga wood) to support thick wooden benches and tables. Beaded walls separate the bedroom from the bathroom, making it more friendly but soundproof.

flexibility

All the living dining areas, plus two large rooms on the second floor (greenhouses, for sunbathing, not staying outdoors) or music rooms, can be used for various purposes, and the furniture here can be applied to any place.

Unique structure theory

Pillars and roofs are first used to resist bad weather.

Then, the structure is wrapped with industrial glued panels, which is also convenient for hanging.

Once the panels are fixed on the floor, they are coated with asphalt film. These films are rolled up and stuck to the panel.

Then hang PVC double-layer window glass. It seems that construction technology is a continuous work, allowing many different teams to work at the same time.

Energy saving characteristics

This hotel has many energy-saving facilities. In this way, all unnecessary things serving passengers are saved, not only for environmental protection, but also for the soul.

A Chilean poet wrote that the most important thing is not to turn on the light every night, but to remember the light that exists when turning off the light. . . . . .

The hotel uses low-energy light bulbs, while improving the color quality of yellow shadows, as well as low-energy water equipment, toilet system, good thermal insulation, proper sun orientation to generate passive energy, thermal energy saving, glass ultraviolet protective film and so on.

The biggest challenge

How to achieve the uniqueness of culture and reflect the rich connotation of places, and bring lifelong experience to tourists.

How do we overcome the challenge?

We have people who love and care about our work, as well as professional knowledge, patience and enthusiasm.

accidental

One never refuses unexpected good, so the result is often better than we expected.
