Eight Scenes of Chaozhou
□ Xiangqiao Bridge rises in spring. Xiangzi Bridge, also known as Guangji Bridge, lies outside the east gate of Chaozhou City, lying on the rolling Hanjiang River. It borders Bijia Mountain to the east, the downtown area of ??Dongmen to the west, and Fenghuang Island to the south. Looking up to Jincheng Mountain in the north, the scenery is magnificent and charming. The folk song goes: "If you go to Guangzhou without the tide, your journey is in vain; if you reach the tide but don't have the bridge, your trip will be in vain." Guangji Bridge was built in the seventh year of Qiandao in Song Dynasty (1171). It was originally a floating beam and was called "Kangji Bridge". After that, after more than 200 years of changes, it was not until the eighth year of Zhengde in the Ming Dynasty (1513) that the unique style of "Eighteen shuttles and twenty-four continents" was formed.
Chaozhou folk song: "Chaozhou Xiangqiao is so romantic, with eighteen shuttle boats covering twenty-four continents, twenty-four towers with twenty-four kinds, two cows and one cow running", which sings about the historical features of Xiangzi Bridge. "Spring Rising of Xiangqiao Bridge" is one of the "Eight Scenes of Chaozhou": In late spring in March, the Hanjiang River rose and the river surface widened. Eighteen shuttle boats were connected in a line between the east and west sections of Xiangzi Bridge, which really looked like a long dragon lying on the waves. Looking at the green bamboo forests on both sides of the upper reaches, the peach blossoms blooming in Xianzhou in the lower reaches and the green willows along the river, they all seem to be floating on the water. The scenery is pleasant, just like Sanxiang. There is a poem praising:
The spring water rises in Xiangqiao Bridge Far away,
Eighteen shuttle boats lock the painted bridge.
The snow flies on the rocks and herons fly on the beams,
The sound of the roaring waves fills the sea gate.
Peach waves rise in Yazhou,
The crocodile smoke deeply washes the willow branches.
March is auspicious for Changhong in this area,
The floating trees almost reach the sky.
□Hanci Oak crosses the Guangji Bridge, facing the winding Bijia Mountain. The mountain is layered with rocks, green pines and cypresses, and the sun is blocked. Along the stone steps of the middle peak, you go straight up the mountainside, which is solemn and quiet. The solemn Han Wengong Temple stands in front of you, and this is the resort of "Han Temple Oak".
Beijia Mountain was originally called Shuangjing Mountain, and it was called Bijia Mountain because it resembled a penholder. Hanwengong Temple is located under the double flagstones at the middle peak of Bijia Mountain. According to legend, when Han Yu was demoted to be the governor of Chaozhou, he often climbed the mountain, built pavilions for sightseeing, and planted oak trees with his own hands. Later generations respected Han Gong and called Bijia Mountain "Hanshan" and the pavilion "Shilang Pavilion". In the 16th year of Chunxi of the Song Dynasty (1189), Ding Yunyuan, the magistrate of the military prefecture, believed that Han Gong visited here and planted oak trees by hand, and that Han Gong's ancestral hall should be moved here, so he moved the Han Wengong ancestral hall seven miles south of the city to its current location.
The architecture of the Han Wen Gong Temple is simple and elegant. The walls are all made of water-polished bricks. The temple is divided into two entrances, the front and the rear, with two corridors. The rear entrance is elevated seven feet, and there are stone steps to climb. In the middle, Han Yu is worshipped. statue. There are many couplets engraved on the stone pillars in the temple, and there are forty inscriptions from past dynasties surrounding the walls, detailing the history of Han Yu's demotion and the rise and fall of the temple.
According to legend, the oak tree planted by Han Yu was right in front of the temple. According to the description in "Han Mu Zan" by Wang Dabao, Minister of Rites of the Song Dynasty, the oak tree was shaped like a canopy, covering the eaves, with a fish scale-like skin and thin and long leaves. , the leaves have raised veins and are angular. They bloom at the turn of spring and summer, red and white, very beautiful. But the flowers don't bloom all the time. Chaozhou people admire Han Yu so much that they are auspicious to the oak tree he planted. "The prosperity and decline of a family's name can be predicted by the abundance and sparseness of the flowers." There is even a record in "Chaozhou Prefecture Chronicles" that "the oak flowers in the ancestral hall in the ninth year of Qianlong's reign will make the name of the family flourish." Therefore, the ancestral hall is dedicated to the sage, and the name of the tree family, "Han Temple Oak", has become one of the eight scenic spots in Chaozhou. Zheng Lanzhi, a native of the city, wrote in a poem:
A tall plant stands tall in the green mountains, and the waiter's hand is leaning on the railing.
The roots are deep and the temple is ancient in August, and the leaves are shining with twin flags to spend the cold years.
The jagged ridges and shadows invade the meandering water, and the strange flowers reflect the ancestral altar.
If visitors ask about the name of the department, they will refer to Fang Lin’s old surname Han.
□ Jinshan Ancient Pines Jinshan stands on the bank of Hanjiang River in the north of the city. It is about 40 meters high and golden in shape like an overturned cauldron. The three sides of the city.
The ancient pine in Jinshan was formerly known as Maqiu Songcui. Because Ma Fa, the general who destroyed Fengzhai at the end of the Song Dynasty, led the Chaozhou people to fight against the invasion of Yuan soldiers, the later Yuan general bribed Huang Huzi, the inspector of the South Gate, as an internal agent and captured Chaozhou City. Ma Fa "recruited the disabled and led more than a hundred people into Baozi City ( That is, Jinshan). He couldn't do anything, so he made his wife hang herself to death." The whole family was martyred, and the whole city was killed during the massacre by the Yuan soldiers. In order to commemorate Ma Fa and the Chaozhou people's resistance to the Yuan Dynasty, later generations built Ma Fa's tomb on Jinshan Mountain and planted green pines and cypresses to symbolize high integrity and integrity. Zheng Lanzhi wrote a poem praising:
The peak of Jinshan Mountain rises in the north,
A pine tree casts its shadow for eternity.
The towering clouds hang a hundred feet high,
The green trees endure the snow for three winters.
The wind pavilion is covered with green and flying battlements,
The tiger stone blows the waves to chase the evening bell.
The sea is full of beauty,
The forest is full of autumn colors.
The governor's court in the Tang Dynasty and the state government office in the Song Dynasty were both located at the foot of Jinshan Mountain. During the Xiangfu period of Dazhong in the Song Dynasty (1008-1016), Wang Han, the magistrate of Chaozhou, saw that "the shape of the mountain surpasses all forms". So they cut thorns, built buildings, opened paths, built Lychee Pavilion, Phoenix Pavilion, Chuyang Pavilion, Xihui Pavilion, built Duxiu Peak, Chuyangding, Wangxian Stone, and displayed various scenery of stone hills.
In the past dynasties, it was continuously repaired and poems and stories were carved on the rocks, making Jinshan a tourist attraction.
□ Phoenix Terrace Phoenix Terrace is located at the northern end of Laoya Island (later called Shazhou Island or Phoenix Island) in the southern suburbs of Chaozhou City. It was built on the initiative of Hou Bideng, the prefect of Chaozhou in the second year of Longqing in the Ming Dynasty (1568). Fenghuang Terrace is the main building of Fenghuangzhou Park. Because it is located at the head of the island, it has suffered many disasters from floods and waves in history. The remaining remnants before the reconstruction were built in the early years of the Republic of China. The platform is a four-column, single-eaves rest building. The cement structure pavilion on the top of the mountain is far from its original appearance.
The rebuilt Phoenix Terrace consists of two parts: the platform body and the pavilion. It faces south and faces north, and is more than four feet high. The stone base on the first floor of the platform is a high platform, which is eight feet high. The second floor is the Mingdai, about eight feet high, and the pavilion is seven feet high, supported by 8 eaves pillars and 12 door pillars. The roof is a three-bay, high in the middle and low on both sides, forming a three-mountain style. The two levels with different roof heights produce six eaves on the front and rear, and two eaves on both sides, outlining eight eaves. The heights are staggered, the eaves are high, the tower is majestic and elegant, and it is magnificent, reproducing the original appearance and charming style of the Phoenix Tower. Plaques such as "Fengtai Shiyu" and "Mainstream" on the pavilion contrast with the wooden structure, Ming-style arches and traditional blue tiles on the roof, creating a unified, harmonious and elegant atmosphere. If you admire it from a distance, it will be like what the ancients said: "Smoke and clouds bloom in the sky, and lights can be seen on the towers." It is so beautiful.
Phoenix Terrace is famous for its borrowed scenery. "Phoenix Shiyu", one of the eight scenic spots in Chaozhou, refers to the unpredictable rainy scenery here in summer. In that season when it rains and clears at first, the wonderful scenery on the river is ever-changing. Sometimes it rains sparsely, the river is light and the smoke is light, and the shadows of sails shuttle. Looking at Xiangzi Bridge from a distance, it is misty and rainy, and the traffic is busy, just like a mirage; looking up at Bijia Mountain, the light clouds are misty. The pavilions on the mountain are shrouded in gauze. On a sunny day, the sun is scorching, and sometimes the rain falls suddenly, like thousands of silver beads thrown from the sky, the sunshine reflects the raindrops, and it is like thousands of bead curtains swaying out of thin air, making people linger, relaxed and happy, and suspected of entering a fairyland. The poem by Zheng Lanzhi, a scholar during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty, describes this scenic spot vividly:
There are terraces rising on the outskirts of Fengcheng, and the rain is falling across the water.
The clouds lock the Xiang Bridge and doubt the sea city, and the foggy pen ridge reminds me of Penglai.
One day silver bamboo invaded the vermilion sill, and the eaves on all sides were covered with green moss.
Wenhou has many beautiful mountains and rivers, and it’s easy to wander on Laoya Island.
□ Longqiu Pagoda originally refers to the stone pagoda built in the Song Dynasty on the small sandbank on the Hanjiang River in the north of Chaozhou City. There are lush woods and elegant and quiet temples under the tower, which complement the scenery around the car and form a wonderful and beautiful scenery. It was originally called "Tayuan Weizhou", named after the yacht Changxi's mooring cable. Because there is "Longqiu Spring" beside the tower, it is also called "Longqiu Pagoda". When I viewed this scene in the past, I could see that the ancient pagoda stood in the middle of the river, far away from Yixi River, and the river surrounded the small island. If you climb the tower and look ahead, you can see that the Xiang Bridge stretches across the river like a rainbow, behind it is Phoenix Mountain, which is high in the sky, on the right is the bustling city with smoke, and on the left is a vast green countryside. When you walk into the temple, you will see monks burning incense and worshiping Buddha, ringing bells and drums, which has a unique flavor. At night, the yachts are busy all night long. On moonlit nights, tourists may moor a boat to the tower, drink tea and express their feelings; or lie on their backs in the boat, silently counting the stars in the sky, listening to the gurgling water, or raising the curtains to watch the waves floating leisurely on the river. It is really leisurely and contented, and the fun is endless. As Zheng Lanzhi described:
The ancient pagoda is majestic,
The courtyard is full of boats.
The sails hide the lanterns and shadows at the third watch of the moon,
The cables tie the bells for a five-night tour.
It’s okay to stop and let the wind rustle.
Open the window and love to wander.
Looking out from a distance on several levels of stairs,
A picture of a river city entering autumn.
Unfortunately, the pagoda collapsed in the Qing Dynasty and the temple was deserted. The remaining pagoda base was later washed away by floods. The small island was blown up due to the renovation of Hansa, and only the underwater remains remained. Now, instead of this scene, there is the scenery of "Phoenix Tower". "Phoenix Tower" was built by Guo Zizhang, the magistrate during the Wanli period (1581-1585). The tower faces Phoenix Mountain far away and faces the Phoenix Tower across the river, so it is named after it. There is Beixi on the right side of the tower. During drought, the stream often dries up and is called "Dry Creek". Therefore, the Phoenix Tower is also called "Dry Creek Tower". The tower is thirteen feet seven feet high, with a base circumference of fourteen feet four feet, seven floors and eight sides, and is made of masonry. The pagoda was built on the southeast side of Hanjiang River in Chaozhou, right at the intersection of the two rivers. It acts like an embankment to protect the villages behind the pagoda.
When the setting sun shines or the sun rises in the east, the shadows of the water flow are moving and the golden light shines, which is very magical. Whenever the autumn air is crisp, the river is calm, the blue waves are like mirrors, the water shadows are reflected, and the ancient pagodas are like giant pillars holding up the sky, which is spectacular. Climb to the top of the tower along the escalator inside the tower, overlooking the beautiful scenery in all directions, and have an unobstructed view of the natural features of the ancient city protected by three mountains and one river.
□ Crocodile Crossing the Autumn Wind In the middle of the North Embankment of Hanjiang River outside Chaozhou City, there is an ancient ferry called Crocodile Crossing. In ancient times, Chaozhou was infested with crocodiles, so Hanjiang was originally called Crocodile Creek (Evil Creek). It is said that in the 14th year of Yuanhe (819), Emperor Xianzong of the Tang Dynasty, Han Yu, the Minister of Punishment, set up an altar at the above-mentioned ferry on April 24 of that year, "tossing pigs and sheep." "I wish you the best of luck in the pond of the evil stream." Therefore, Chaozhou people called the crossing the Crocodile Crossing. This is the widest river surface in the upper reaches of the Han River. Every autumn, the scenery here is the most charming: the clear blue sky is set against patches of white clouds, the autumn wind ruffles the calm river water, the tall and straight kapok trees on the embankment rustle, and a few yellow leaves fall intermittently, slowly floating on the river. On the vast river. The boat filled with white sails floats slowly, looking at anything and everything, looking particularly comfortable and free. There is a poem praising:
The small boat chases the breeze, carrying it to the west and back to the east.
The people stand on clear waves, the autumn water is green, and the leaves fly far away and the sunset is red.
One stream is cool and the tide is wide, and the cool breeze on both sides is full of crocodiles crossing the sky.
It is a wonderful place to worship the gods of literature, and it is sung in the river today.
□ West Lake Fish Raft West Lake Fish Raft is the most poetic and intoxicating scenery in the beautiful and spectacular West Lake scenery. Because fish rafts appear in the misty sky, the lake light and water color change endlessly. Named after it.
At the beginning of summer, the lake overflows with stone piles, green trees, and unique pavilions, reflected in the mirror-like lake water. Willows on the shore sway in the wind, and the lotus pond in the distance emits fragrance. With bursts of fragrance. More than a dozen fishing rafts floated in the lake, casting nets to catch fish, and then gathered at the lakeside. The fishermen hung out their nets to dry their clothes on the rafts, drank and talked and laughed, creating a peaceful and joyful scene.
The scenery of the West Lake in autumn is even more charming. The water is clear, fish are swimming like shuttles, fishing rafts are floating in the middle of the lake, gathering and dispersing. Mountains and trees are reflected on the bottom of the water, and their shadows are swaying. The light rain scattered the smoke, and the lake was completely empty. Several pairs of fishing rafts are looming, throwing and collecting nets, just like a natural painting. When the autumn colors are in full bloom, it is even more interesting to hide in the willow shade of the lake or on the fishing platform to watch fish and fish. Zheng Lanzhi, a local from Yi, wrote a poem about the scenery:
The Fangtang is as clear as a mirror. , the fishing raft is watching the wind.
A few reed flowers are floating on the clear water, and the sunset is low on the lake halfway up the mountain.
The egrets fly over the rocks and there are thousands of frost spots on them, and the fish weave waves in the heart of the stream.
There is a fishing platform to express your interest, and you can enjoy the autumn scenery passing by the west of the city.
The West Lake was dredged in the Tang Dynasty and was originally a life-release pond. It was dredged again in the Song Dynasty and turned into a tourist lake. There is a Hongqiao crossing the lake from east to west, as well as unique Huxin Pavilion, Huqing Pavilion and Fishing Village, which fully embody the small, exquisite, elegant and simple characteristics of southern garden architecture.
□ Beige Buddha Lantern Beige was originally the general name for a group of pavilions at the foot of the mountain to the east of Jinshan Mountain. Here you can see the rushing water of the Han River in the east, the North Pavilion, the "crocodile crossing the autumn wind" on the north embankment, the "Han Temple Oak" across the river, the "spring rise of Xiangqiao" on the lower reaches of the Han River, and the "Phoenix Rain". Many scenic spots are vividly visible; overlooking the Han River, the river is surging and dotted with white sails. It is said that the Buddhist lantern in front of the pavilion shines with golden light at night. The lights can be seen on the river from Luhu, fifteen miles upstream of Hanjiang River, to Jishui Tower downstream, and by land from Nanwudong in Raoping to the south to Fuyang, Chaozhou City. , the symbol of Hanjiang Night Navigation.
Beige Scenic Area was built in the Song Dynasty and formed in the Ming Dynasty. It has experienced ups and downs in the past dynasties, and was completely destroyed on the eve of liberation. In the new construction period, with good governance and people's coordination, all kinds of wastes have been revitalized, and this long-lost scenic spot has been rebuilt. The entire scenic spot is surrounded by mountains and rivers, rising from bottom to top, with scattered heights and majestic views. The newly built Xuantian Pavilion has yellow tiles, red walls, and double eaves. The famous calligrapher Qin Esheng, who is ninety-eight years old, inscribed a plaque for Xuantian Pavilion and also wrote a couplet: "On the wall of a river stands an Optimus Prime, and a hundred springs fly across the earth." The artistic statue of Emperor Zhenwu is rebuilt in the pavilion. Next to the pavilion stands a stone Buddha lantern. On the hillside next to you is the Hanjiang Tower, a double-story building with the upper part for viewing and the lower part for statues of Guan Yu, Guan Ping and Zhou Cang. Mr. Jao Tsung-hee, professor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, inscribed a plaque for the building and wrote a couplet: "Loyalty lasts forever and there is light, so why ask for the day; loyalty and courage will never fade away, this is the blue sky." To the south of Hanjiang Tower was built the Jiulan Pavilion. The couplet engraved on the pavilion reads: "The sound of the river breaking off the ground is running low, and the shadow of the peak falls off the top of the city."
"Reproduces the scene that Zheng Lanzhi chanted at that time:
Several floors of Yanlin Pavilion in the north of the city,
Looking at burning lanterns from the glass seat.
A trace of the quiet sky is reflected ,
The shadows are as bright as the sun in the morning,
The moon is hanging in the hills at night. The Brahma Palace naturally has a bright mirror,
illuminating everything in the Han Dynasty.
