Request to appreciate and translate Li Yu's Autumn Warbler.
Li Yu [Five Dynasties]
The warbler knows nothing about autumn, but swims through the secluded forest alone.
The old tongue leans its ears in every way, and a little dark yellow enters the smoke stream.
Live late, share the same sorrow with Lu, be clear and bright, and be broken to the ground.
I don't even want to stay home, which shows China's sadness and sadness.

Oriole, oriole, why don't you know it's cold and autumn? Why are you still flying alone in this dark forest?
Listen carefully to the old warbler's chirping, but I still can't understand what it is. I watched it fly into the air and gradually turned into a dark yellow spot and disappeared.
Like this old warbler, I am the opposite of this world, slow and clumsy. Although the singing remains the same, it is incoherent and fragmented.
Oriole, don't want to stay in the dark Woods. Go back to the south to avoid the cold. What are the benefits of being in the forest? Dewdrops make people feel sad and worried.
Overall appreciation
In spring, orioles sing, and their voices are clear and melodious, which evokes people's reverie, such as talking to themselves and talking to each other. Known as "Hundred Tongues", it is regarded as a symbol of spring and a common singing object in poetry and prose. Han Xizai, Li Yu's minister, was ordered to write a long article about the spring outing, saying, "The orioles sing mangroves and talk about painting beams." However, this poem by Li Yu does not follow the usual path of poets, but laments the orioles in autumn, with different thoughts and feelings. The weather in Qiu Lai is cold, plants and trees are dying, and orioles live a singing life and are facing the winter drought. Combined with Li Yu's situation and the decline of his illness, people will think that this poem is called Yingge, but it is actually a solo.
At the beginning of this poem, the object of singing-oriole is pointed out, but it is called "residual warbler" in profound words. This is an oriole, from spring to summer and then to autumn. She sings about the flowers in spring and lives in the shade of summer. Now that autumn has come and winter has come, she is still flying alone in the forest. The so-called "disability" means that this oriole is old and weak. This oriole has survived natural and man-made disasters, or this oriole's partner is gone, leaving only one person to live. The poet doesn't speak, but the reader can understand. Seeing this oriole flying through the Woods alone, the poet felt infinite pity: "The residual warbler knows nothing about autumn, but she still swims through the secluded forest alone." It is written about the forest instead of "seclusion", emphasizing the darkness and profundity of the forest, and the good or bad luck is unknown, so the future of oriole is hard to say. The word "solo" shows the loneliness of flying alone in the dark. So I sigh that I don't know autumn: I don't know that autumn has arrived, winter is just around the corner, and the fate ahead will be more severe. I am still flying around in this forest, and I am still looking for something. Describing birds and forests reflects the poet's life.
The second couplet pays attention to this oriole by listening and smoking, and accepts the pity and sigh of the first couplet. Yinger is an "old tongue" because she is "disabled" and has experienced a lot. And "Old Tongue" kept crying, what are you talking about: sentimental about the passage of time, lamenting the eternity of life, telling the joys and sorrows of experience, and telling the loneliness of traveling alone. How the poet wanted to understand the cry of the oriole, so he listened attentively and followed its voice. However, the oriole gradually flew into the distance, watching, and "a little dark yellow entered the smoke stream" disappeared into the thin cloud potato on the horizon, leaving the poet standing thin. At this time, the emotions brought out by the inquiry gushed out, and the poem changed from the narrative of the first two couplets to the lyrical discussion of the last two couplets.
The third part, through the speculative explanation of Yingying's singing, uses two allusions to express her arms. "Live late and stay in the world" means that people are as lonely as warblers, and the same difficult warblers "swim alone" because they have lost their group and companions, and people have the same sorrow for Lu, just like Confucius' sorrow for Lu in those years. It is not only appropriate but also meaningful to use the story of Wang Zijin in In Dogs. Prince Jinshan blowing sheng is related to Yingying; Wang Zijin is the eldest son of the Western Zhou Dynasty, and his identity is related to the poet. However, Wang Zijin gave up the throne and became a fairy. When he turned into a white crane and appeared on the top of the mountain to say goodbye to his family, he still had feelings that he never let go. The poet uses "broken" to describe the sound of "clear as sheng", emphasizing that this sound is to send other sounds, which is somewhat sad and sad, and it sounds heartbreaking. This heartbreaking voice is not only the music of Wang Zijin in the story, but also the cry of an oriole at this moment, and it is also the poet's own voice. In the last sentence, convince yourself with warbler's voice that there is nothing to miss in this life. The past has made people sad, but the future will be even more bleak: "Exposing China and suffering." Don't talk about the future, just say that the dew is beautiful, but it is the last scene before the frost, and the flowers are blooming, but it is the last beauty in winter. All good things have passed away or will pass away. The oriole who has experienced disasters has entered a "smoke stream" and has no attachment to the world. However, this despair of life is not directly expressed, and it is only described by autumn scenery who is in full bloom, pointing out "sadness" and "mourning" for readers' appreciation.
Judging from the title, this poem is an object-chanting poem, but it breaks the traditional writing method of object-chanting poem. Li Yu not only clearly pointed out the word "ying" in his poems, but also used "disability", "old age" and "independence" to describe the desolate state of oriole, ignoring the taboo of traditional object-chanting poems. This poem of his can be said to be another way of chanting things, with oriole as the incarnation, and expressing his sad fate through the feeling of oriole wearing in late autumn. This lyrical way is euphemistic and implicit, but it is not lyrical with objects, but constitutes a symbol with allegorical meaning, just like the Book of Songs.
