Can I deduct money from my credit card directly without my permission?

A clear answer: it is possible under special circumstances.

Under normal circumstances, after the consumer makes a hotel reservation, the bank will freeze some funds in the credit card at the request of the merchant as a "guarantee" for the consumer to spend in the merchant. Pre-authorization does not mean actual payment, and pre-authorization still occupies the credit limit of credit card as actual consumption.

Once the pre-authorization is confirmed, the corresponding funds in the card will be frozen and the credit line will be reduced accordingly. This amount will be "frozen" in a short time before the actual consumption amount is deducted at the checkout or the merchant cancels the pre-sale right.

When checking out, the hotel will destroy the original blank pre-authorized POS list, and go through the "pre-authorization confirmation" procedure according to your actual consumption situation to check out again. When the customer settles the pre-authorization, the pre-authorization will be cancelled.

However, it should be noted that after using pre-authorization, if the processing is not cancelled in time, merchants can withdraw money directly, and banks generally will not refuse to pay.
