What is the altitude of Datong?

Datong, with an altitude of 1090 meters, is the third highest city in Shanxi Province, a municipality under the jurisdiction of Shanxi Province, and a sub-central city in the province. Located in the center of Datong basin, it is actually the barrier of the whole Shanxi province and the gateway to the north. It is the throat of Shanxi, Hebei and Inner Mongolia. Known as "Phoenix" and "China Coal Capital", it is one of the largest coal energy bases in China.
