This thousand-year-old fairy mountain in Jiangxi was the first to be selected as a world cultural heritage. It is called "Yue" but is not included in the Five Sacred Mountains.

Among them, only Lushan Mountain is the only mountain named with the word "Yue" besides the Five Sacred Mountains.

This title was not given by today's people, but was officially named "Luyue" by Zhu Yuanzhang, the emperor of the Ming Dynasty. Soon after Zhu Di, the emperor of the Ming Dynasty, came to the throne, he issued an edict announcing that with Tianchi Temple in Lushan Mountain as the core, the "East to the East" The vast area from Wulao Peak to Baiyun Peak in the south, Ma'anshan in the west and Lecture Hall in the north was designated as royal forbidden land, which also made Lushan Mountain famous all over the world in ancient times.

Historical reasons aside, even though Lushan Mountain is only 1,474 meters above sea level, it is not outstanding among the mountains in China. However, its natural scenery and profound cultural connotation are enough to make it famous. It has a place in the mountains.

Perhaps you know that Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, is one of China's four hottest cities, but you don't know that Guling Town on Lushan Mountain was called "cooling" by Europeans 100 years ago and became a summer resort; perhaps you know Li Bai's " Flying down three thousand feet" and Su Dongpo's "I don't know the true face of Mount Lu", but I don't know that more than 3,500 scholars wrote more than 16,000 poems for Mount Lu in history; maybe you know the Donglin Temple in Mount Lu, but you don't know that there are 500 temples in history. In addition to summer vacation in Lushan, Lushan is equally surprising with its romantic mountain flowers in spring, dyed forests in autumn, and snow-covered scenery in winter. There are currently three main roads up Mount Lushan: Beishan Highway, Nanshan Highway and Haohanpo. Most tourists will choose to take a shuttle bus from Jiujiang Bus Terminal directly to Guling Town in Lushan Mountain, which is more labor-saving. If you have good foot strength, you can naturally choose to climb Haohan Slope to better integrate into Lushan Mountain. Firstly, you can experience the fun of mountaineering and secondly, you can visit ancient times and enjoy the scenery.

I visited Lushan Mountain in late summer and early autumn. At that time, the autumn tigers were still showing their power, but I felt cool and refreshing in the mountains. The weather in the mountains is very changeable. Halfway through the climb, the originally sunny weather suddenly started to rain lightly. The rain wet the trees and made the small town of Guling look like a fairyland surrounded by clouds and fog.

The Lushan Scenic Area is centered on Guling. In fact, it is not accurate to say that Lushan is a mountain. It is more like a small mountain city. Europeans first developed Lushan a hundred years ago and built more than 300 villas in Guling. Now there are more than 10,000 locals living in it. The streets are bustling with businesses, including restaurants, hotels, cinemas, libraries, etc. It is truly a "cloud mountain". Zhongshan City". This is unique on any famous mountain in China. Almost everyone who has been to Lushan will leave their admiration for the beautiful scenery to the small town of Guling.

The scenic area around Guling is divided into two parts, the West Valley and the East Valley. The West Valley is dominated by natural landscapes, and the famous ones are Huajing, Jinxiu Valley and Xianren Cave. Huajing is the location of Dalin Temple, and it is also the place where Bai Juyi sang, "The beauty of April in the world ends, and the peach blossoms in the mountain temple begin to bloom." The name of Ruqin Lake next to the flower path is intoxicating, let alone the beautiful scenery. The Jinxiu Valley is famous for its suspended "overpass", and the Immortal Cave is the legendary place where Lu Dongbin practiced Taoism. It is also one of the Taoist temples famous at home and abroad.

Donggu is famous for its humanities. Meilu Villa, Wanguo Villa Group, Lushan Museum, etc. all live here. Meilu Villa was once the official summer residence of Chiang Kai-shek and Song Dynasty. Today, it maintains its original appearance, showing the world the memories that have been buried for many years. The outside is full of greenery, pines and waves, and the environment is quiet and pleasant. The Lushan Museum is located on the bank of Lulin Lake. It displays many works of art, including items from Chairman Mao's life. There is a poetry monument garden built at the bridgehead of the lake, which is also the place where the protagonists in the movie "Romance on Mount Lu" met, swam and embraced.

After visiting Mount Lu in 1928, Hu Shi uniquely proposed that "the three ruins in Mount Lu represent three major trends", including Guling, Bailudong Academy and Donglin Temple. In addition to Guling on Lushan Mountain, the other two are located south of Wulaofeng in Lushan Mountain and 50 kilometers east of Guling Street. They are places that cannot be missed when visiting Lushan Mountain.

Take the bus from Jiujiang to Xingzi, get off at the intersection of Bailudong Academy, and walk for more than 20 minutes to reach the entrance of the academy.

Bailudong Academy, hidden under towering trees, is known as the "Four Great Academies in China" and ranks first along with Hengyang Shigu Academy, Changsha Yuelu Academy, and Shangqiu Yingtian Academy. It has a history of more than a thousand years.

Bailudong Academy was called "Lushan Chinese Studies" during the Southern Dynasty. It flourished for a while. It was changed to its current name during the Northern Song Dynasty, and then gradually declined in the later period. After being abandoned for a hundred years, Zhu Xi single-handedly revitalized the academy, pioneered lectures in ancient academies, and wrote the earliest educational regulations in the history of world education. It can be said that it provides real memories for the growth of Chinese national culture. Walking in the secluded academy, you can see the green tiles and pink tiles, which makes this magnificent palace appear somewhat solemn and indifferent.

Although Donglin Temple has become a famous tourist attraction all over the world, when you come here, you can still experience the purity of Buddhism for thousands of years. In addition to being the birthplace of Pure Land Buddhism and having the tallest Buddha statue in the world, the temple also has many cultural relics. From the translation platform where Duke Yuan of the Eastern Jin Dynasty and the Confucian classics translators from the Western Regions were stationed in Xi, to the "Inscription of the Broken Stele of Liu Gongquan" inscribed by Kang Youwei in the late Qing Dynasty, the time span spans more than a thousand years. Every historical site embodies a historical allusion, and its cultural heritage is very important. It is rich and attracts many people to visit the temple to worship Buddha.
