Actually, I bought more expensive pigments. I choose to buy the highest grade pigment in basic color packaging. If you use color fixing and tube color fixing, color fixing is easy to carry and organize, suitable for small area and light picture painting, and suitable for going out to sketch. However, it is difficult to dip it, which will interfere with the progress of painting to a certain extent, and it will hurt the brush if it is used for a long time. Therefore, I suggest more about color management. The color tube is easy to dip, which is more suitable for different styles of paintings.

At present, we have bought SMINKs main 12 basic color, solid color and main color packaging; Daniel smith s6 basic color tube color; Holbein tube color packaging and Windsor Newton artists (French production) tube color packaging. Each of the four pigments has its own characteristics and advantages, among which Holbein is the cheapest. Personally, I think Shi Ming and Holbein are more suitable for beginners.

Master Schminke: Elegant and steady tones, 12 basic colors can be used to match various rich colors. The precipitation is fine and sufficient, with moderate diffusion and relatively stable control, but there are many water marks. (Recommended colors: ultramarine and phthalocyanine green, which can be mixed into beautiful blue as transparent as Jiuzhaigou Haizi)

Daniel: The color is bright and bright, the diffusion is full and rich, the diffusion is quite strong, and there are few water marks. It is not recommended for beginners to buy because it is too diffuse and difficult to control. But if you are an experienced watercolor veteran, you must buy this pigment. The effect is really beautiful. (Recommended color: Lufthansa yellow. I think this is the most beautiful watercolor yellow pigment I have ever used.

Windsor artist: the pigment with the highest transparency, easily soluble in water, moderate diffusion, moderate watermark, small and fresh style. Because the transparency is too high, the dark part of the picture always feels unbearable. Most of the colors I bought are satisfied with hue, neither ugly nor amazing. Suitable for the combination of dry and wet painting, not suitable for wet painting in one step (recommended color: manganese blue, a very bright blue with sky blue phase, is the most beautiful watercolor blue pigment currently used).

Holbein: The color is bright and beautiful. It looks fresher than daniel smith. There is almost no color diffusion and no watermark. However, because the pigment hardly diffuses and is easy to control, it is suitable for beginners, but it is more suitable for beginners to try watercolor and not suitable for long-term use. I don't think the picture effect of this pigment is as good as the first three. If you like pigment, you have to buy cow bile. I bought this pigment in a different color, so I have to recommend it. )

It is absolutely essential to buy pigments, namely lemon yellow, rose red and ultramarine. Besides, you can also buy a yellow that is warmer and orange than lemon yellow (cadmium yellow is lighter than yellow) and a blue that is greener and brighter than ultramarine (sky blue Kong Quelan). Generally, red is not directly red, but is made of roses and an orange, or roses are gradually added with lemon yellow to make red. Personally, if I buy the right color, 5~6 colors will be enough. If novices feel that they can leave white space without manual work and white glue, they can buy white paint from Holbein to supplement it.

However, although buying the right pigments can bring out many new colors for painting, I later found that this method is more suitable for those who have systematically studied art, and it is easier for those who have a solid knowledge of color theory to get started. If it doesn't study art systematically, I personally think it is more convenient to mix colors by increasing the pigment to about 9 colors. For example, according to the main pigments I used before, I can choose 9 colors: lemon yellow, light cadmium yellow, cadmium red, rose red, ultramarine blue, phthalocyanine green, olive green, khaki, English Venice red (a kind of ochre).

Ink cotton flat-headed pen feels soft and easy to depict, but it is not as easy to use as pointed pen in painting. Also, although it is soft, it is easy to eat the pigment into the brush hair, resulting in the final picture not being colored.

I bought a Hua Hong wool watercolor pen, size 6, and it only works when I splash it on a large area for the first time. Like the ink imperial pen, it is easy to eat the color into the brush hair, resulting in the picture not being colored and the follow-up being unclean. A little chicken ribs.

Windsor blue mink brush, the price is pleasing, but it will be a little hairy after a long time, and the picture is a bit stiff.

So I haven't bought a special mink brush suitable for detailed description.
