Trip to Nagoya, Japan

? I have been to Japan many times but have never been to Nagoya. I am also particularly interested in the Japanese countryside and want to go to Shirakawa-go Gassho Village. I want to go to the mountains around Nagoya. When I was preparing for the trip, I read a lot of tips. Some people took the Shoryu Trail in central Japan, a Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway that connects the Chubu Centrair International Airport in Nagoya, the largest city in central Japan, to the Noto area in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. The tourist route of the highway is named after its route that resembles a dragon. However, it is quite tiring to take this route. It is too hard to carry the suitcase and take it to the bus many times to stay in different places. So I decided to take a few day trips centered around Nagoya. I signed up for a one-day trip to Shirakawa-go Gassho House Lighting, and a one-day trip to Inuyama Castle, Tsumago-juku, Malon-juku, Mt. Hukei, and Eihoji Temple. I also reported a one-day trip to Kanazawa Kenrokuen Garden, Higashi Chaya Street, and Omi Town Market in Ishikawa Prefecture. In the end, I canceled Kanazawa because it was far away and I couldn’t see much in one day, so I might as well go next time. Went there for seven days and six nights.

? There are three people on this trip, my daughter Chen Jing and my friend Jane

Itinerary: Day 1: Fly from Capital Airport to Nagoya

? Arrive in the evening At Nagoya Chubu Airport, my daughter was changing her phone card when entering customs. When she was changing it, she accidentally dropped the screws of her mobile phone case on the ground. She searched for a long time but couldn't find them. At this time, three Japanese staff helped to find the screws. The screws were very small. It's hard to find mixed in with the gray rug. The daughter was embarrassed and quickly gave up the search. When entering the customs, the staff chased her and handed her the screws she had carefully found. Moved and educated. The Japanese are extremely responsible and enthusiastic. Taking the passengers' affairs as their own business is a small matter, but it proves why Japan is the most quality nation in the world. admire! admire!

? We stayed at Hotel Trusty that night. The hotel we stayed in in Nagoya was very good. The three of us booked three single rooms. The price was not expensive, 240 yuan a night. The hotel service is very good, everything you need is available, very considerate, the room feels not small, and the various designs are very considerate. I think it is a high-quality and affordable hotel. If anyone goes to Nagoya, I recommend staying at this hotel. It’s less than ten minutes’ walk from the shopping area, and not far from Nagoya Station. Taxi fare is the starting price, and it’s just a few minutes’ walk from the subway. The transportation is convenient. Find peace amidst the noise. The hotel we booked did not include breakfast. For a few days, we went to nearby cafes. We drank coffee and got breakfast. It was a piece of bread and an egg. It was delicious and cost about 30 yuan.

? The day trip we scheduled for the next day: Inuyama Castle, Eihoji Temple, Magome-juku, and Tsumago-juku.

? The car was waiting at the door of the hotel in the morning. There were three of us, one other guest and five drivers. The seven-seater car was very spacious, and the driver was an uncle who had been in Japan for more than 20 years. It took more than an hour to arrive at Inuyama Castle, and then visited Eihoji Temple. Japanese buildings are basically made of wood. The buildings are atmospheric and simple, and it seems that you can smell the aroma of wood.

? Later we went to Tsumagojuku and Magomejuku. These are ancient inns in the mountains. It is said that there are dozens of inns, but only a few are preserved as tourist attractions. There were not many people in the whole trip. The air is fresh and the architecture is simple, like entering a fairyland. It started to rain lightly while we were in Magome-juku and it looked like something out of a movie.

Many small shops on both sides of Magongsu Mountain Road are in sluggish business. Most of the people who look after the shops are elderly. I went to a store and bought apples for about 10 yuan each.

? When Chen Jing was sketching, he threw the Japanese stamps I bought on a stone and lost them, but he bought them again later to compensate me.

I saw a store with a sign that looked like me, so I took a photo with it. There were statues of this fat woman everywhere, just like the Lucky Cat. It would be great if I could be the spokesperson.

On the third day, after breakfast, we went to Osu Kannon Temple, Nagoya Castle, Toyota Industrial Technology Memorial Hall, and finally went to Yamamotoya Matsuso Honke to eat udon noodles. Udon noodles cost RMB 70. It's rich, it feels like there's a half-boiled egg in the soy sauce soup, and the noodles are very chewy.

Too expensive!

? The night view of Ye Wing Street is very beautiful. We live not far from the red light district in Japan. We passed by on the way back to the hotel and there were many cowherds on the street looking for customers. There are many sexy women dancing in the window.

On the morning of the fourth day, I went to Tokugawa Garden and Tokugawa Museum of Art. Tokugawa Garden is small, quiet and elegant. It will look better in spring and autumn. The Tokugawa Museum of Art did not allow photography, so no photos were left.

After coming out, I found a private coin museum nearby that collected coins from various countries.

? I wandered until I got off work at the museum, and then went to the nearby Uniqlo to buy clothes. Chen Jing and Jane found a short down jacket, which cost more than 600 yuan at home. I bought it at a discount of more than 200 yuan in this store. They picked up a big one. Cheap. Another exciting point of traveling to Japan is buying something you like. Japanese things are very expensive, but the design and quality are so good that you can’t put them down. Unable to control possessiveness, sell, sell, sell.

On the fifth day, we went to the aquarium in Nagoya Port that Chen Jing had been thinking about. We split up. Chen Jing likes to study animals and looks at them more carefully. The two of us don’t particularly like going to the aquarium. I watched two movies at the cinema.

I went to Atsuta Shrine in the afternoon. It was almost the Spring Festival, and there were many people coming to pray and there was a long queue. Jane didn't eat in the morning and was hungry after running around all day. I found a hot drink vending machine on the roadside of the shrine and bought a cup, which saved her life. In the evening we went to a typical Japanese restaurant to eat eel rice. The restaurant is said to have a history of 60 years. The eel rice is charred on the outside and tender on the inside, with no thorns and no fishy smell. It is so delicious, but it is expensive, at more than 160 yuan.

In the afternoon, we went to Gassho Village in Shirakawa-go, a world cultural heritage site. We encountered the lighting period of six days a year, but there was no snow, so it was not very beautiful. We first visited a rich man’s house, and the house looked like Gassho. It has a pointed roof, where food is stored and people live underneath. There were a lot of people coming to visit, and everyone came to watch the lighting. It turns out that lighting is to put a searchlight in front of the house to shine on the roof. When it snows heavily, it looks like a fairy tale world.

It was already very late when I returned to Nagoya from Shirakawa-go. I found a ramen restaurant in front of Nagoya Station. I didn’t expect it to be a famous restaurant. The aisle was too small for two people to walk at the same time, but the noodles tasted great. Yes, the soup is good and chewy. After eating, I will never forget it.

? Go shopping on the seventh day, and return to Beijing on the 28th day of the twelfth lunar month on the eighth day, ending the pleasant trip. Japan is a place I can never get enough of and love the atmosphere there.
