Why can lighting candles eliminate the smell of smoke?

Paraffin wax (containing 20-30 carbon atoms in the molecule) and methane belong to the same hydrocarbon, and its chemical formula can be represented by CnH2n+2. When the candle burns, it is incomplete because of its large carbon content, resulting in black smoke (mainly composed of elemental carbon). When someone smokes indoors, there is often an unpleasant smell. It has been suggested that this smell can disappear quickly after lighting candles indoors.
