Gaoping City is located in the southeast of Shanxi Province, at the northern end of the Zezhou Basin and on the southwest edge of the Taihang Mountains. Qinhui Highway crosses from east to west, and Taijiao Railway and Tailuo Highway run parallel from north to south and run through the territory.
