Can two-wheel drive vehicles take the new Tibet line? Why?

He once worked in Duoma Village, Duoma Township, Ritu County, Ali District, the first direction for Tibetan Armed Police to enter Tibet on the New Tibet Line (National Highway 2 19), and organized local people to participate in the blackening (asphalt pavement) project of National Highway 2 19. Because my village is also the point where all kinds of vehicles enter Tibet or go to Xinjiang for supplies, as for whether ordinary two-wheel drive vehicles can take the new Tibet line, I can tell you from my personal experience that it is completely possible, but there are several preconditions. First, if you just want to drive from Xinjiang to Tibet, the road surface of the new Tibet line has been basically blackened (clearly paved), and the scenery along the way is magnificent, especially after entering Tibet, Alishan Shengshan (Gangrenboqi) and Shenghu (Mabangyongcuo) can pass through Saga County, or you can take the new road Pekucuo (meaning lake in Tibetan) all the way to Sarah. The endless grassland and the peaks on the horizon on the road, if you drive with two wheels, the scenery along the way will definitely shake your heart and leave you with the deepest memory, but don't go down to the grassland or unpaved places when driving, which is prone to traffic jams, flat tires and other dangers. The ability of the two drives to get rid of difficulties is limited. After all, safety comes first.

Second, because of the high altitude and low temperature in Ali, Tibet, the mountains are basically closed by heavy snow in winter and spring. I remember when I lived in Doma village, I went to Ali in winter and my car got stuck in the snow. It took me four hours to get the car out, and my toes and ears felt different. It was still snowing in the long summer of May that year. If you want to travel, you'd better arrange it in June, July and August. Unlike the Yunnan-Tibet line and the Sichuan-Tibet line, there are basically no mudslides, so be careful not to travel in the snow season to avoid danger.

Third, I suggest that you don't travel by car, but leave Yecheng for Tibet, especially after entering Tibet. Because Tibet is vast and sparsely populated, there are many no-man's land on the road. It is normal not to see anyone for 3 or 4 hours at normal speed. At the same time, I think, the land is vast, and sometimes there is no communication signal in some sections. It is difficult to ask for help when in danger. If you really can't make an appointment with your peers, ask the larger local repair shops and hotels. Before you go out, ask them to make an appointment for you, so it will be safer to travel.

Fourth, we should make full preparations before going out, such as anti-altitude sickness drugs, canned oxygen, high-energy food, drinking water, warm clothes, mobile phone charging devices, cold and diarrhea drugs, and vulnerable auto parts. Better bring a small shovel. Although you don't have to worry about the power of the vehicle, you are prepared for many unforeseen situations when you go to the plateau.

Finally, I wish you a pleasant journey and a safe journey.
