Jeju Island Travel Guide

Perhaps the most important thing in foreign travel is traffic. Many people are more concerned about traffic problems, because it's really easy to get lost if you don't know Korean when you travel freely in Korea. The following small series first talks about traffic.

When you arrive in a strange country, the first traffic problem you face is going to the city from the airport! However, it is very important to remind friends that Jeju Island has no airport express line, and of course there is no subway! So here are some of the best means of transportation.

Taxi (1) Jeju Island Taxi has two bus stops: "Jeju Taxi" and "Shiguipu Taxi". Little friends remember to choose the corresponding bus stop according to the destination.

(2) In addition, Jeju Island taxis have three colors: black, white and gray. The starting price of each color and the way to calculate the fare are different, and the charges are different. Among them, black is the best service, mainly for foreign guests. Of course, the price is 2-3 times that of the other two taxis. Bian Xiao suggested that you only type white.

(3) When taking a taxi, you can also use the T-money card when paying the fee.

(4) Generally, taxis take three adults, and some drivers on the island will accommodate four adults, but if there are four adults, 1 child, it is very likely that the driver will not agree.

Taxi billing in Jeju Island

The starting price of taxis is 2,800 won (2km) (about RMB 16 yuan).

After exceeding 2 kilometers, the charge will be 200 won per 146 meters or 35 seconds 100 won.

The cost and time of taking a taxi to various areas of Jeju Island.

It takes about 4 100 won (about RMB 24 yuan) to take a taxi from the airport to Baojian Road10 minute.

It takes about 5,500 won (about RMB 33 yuan) to take a taxi from the airport to Jeju coach station 15 minutes.

It takes about 32,000 won (about RMB 190 yuan) to take a taxi from the airport to China, which takes 1 hour.

It takes about 40,000 won (about RMB 240 yuan) to take a taxi from the airport to Seoguipu coach station, which takes 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Airport Bus-There is only one route for Jeju Island Airport Bus No.600, which starts from Jeju Airport, passes through Jeju City and China Tourist Area, and finally reaches Setopo. The 600 airport bus will stop at the gates of major hotels. Bus No.600 starts quickly and is easy to ride. You can buy tickets with cash and T-money, and you will give them after you pay. You should keep them. Sometimes you need to check them when you get off the bus.

Another thing that makes China people happy is that there is a broadcast in both Chinese and English in the No.600 airport bus, so even if the friends don't know Korean, they can ride with peace of mind.

Charter car has always believed that many friends have doubts. Do you need a charter car to travel to Jeju Island? Let's analyze it from two aspects.

On the one hand, it is necessary to combine the actual situation of Jeju Island to see whether it is necessary to charter a car.

As can be seen from this map of scenic spots in Jeju Island, the scenic spots in Jeju Island are scattered all over the island. Because the middle of the island is Halla Mountain, all roads have to be bypassed, which also determines that your travel route can only be clockwise or counterclockwise. Unless you can fly, you can't cross diagonally.

Secondly, compare the transportation modes of Jeju Island. There are only four modes of transportation: car rental, chartered car, taxi and bus.

(1) Rent a car: Not recommended. First, I believe that most of my friends don't have an international driver's license. In Jeju Island, you can't rent a car with a China driver's license. Secondly, the traffic lights and regulations in Jeju Island are slightly different from those in China, so it is difficult to drive to Jeju Island according to the driving habits of China people.

(2) Taxi: Generally, the more taxis there are in prosperous cities, the easier it is to take taxis; Jeju Island is an island, and it is not easy to take a taxi, except for sightseeing in the city.

(3) Public transportation: Jeju Island is vast and sparsely populated, and places with beautiful scenery are generally in relatively remote places. Although suburban buses will also go, but the frequency is less, we must carefully calculate the departure frequency, or we will miss it carelessly. Besides, for friends who lack travel time, time is money. It takes a lot of time and cost to find a bus stop, wait for a bus, get off the bus stop and walk to a scenic spot, so it is not cost-effective to choose public transportation.

(4) Chartered car: the most comfortable and convenient mode of transportation, only one disadvantage is that it is slightly more expensive than the previous three modes of transportation. After all, chartered cars are specially for you, and drivers have to earn money to support their families.

Generally speaking, it is suggested that friends with better living standards can choose a day trip to Jeju Island or a chartered car around Jeju Island. This is the idea of chartered car experience of some local friends in Jeju Island, and friends who travel may wish to refer to it!

Local BusesLocal buses mainly travel in Jeju City, downtown Seoguipu and surrounding suburbs, and are divided into "ordinary buses" with fewer seats and "buses with seats" with more seats. Please bring your own change when you take the bus. The running time is from 6: 00 to 22: 30.

In addition, there are several warm reminders:

(1) There is no Chinese broadcast on the bus in Jeju Island. Friends who don't know Korean, remember to write down the Korean pronunciation of your destination on a piece of paper. If you have confidence in your Korean, you can try this mode of transportation. The bus fare in the urban area is cheaper, as long as 1000 won.

(2) The site of a line may change, and the operating system is a bit complicated. It is recommended to ask or check before getting on the bus.

(3) Using T-money in Jeju is 50 won cheaper than cash, and you can transfer for free within 1 hour, including long-distance buses. It is worth noting that when you don't transfer, you just need to punch in; When you need to change trains, punch in before you get off.

(4) If you take a bus in Jeju, two people can use one, but you must agree with the driver that it is the fare for two people before getting on the bus!

When taking the foreign shuttle bus, you need to get on the bus at the foreign passenger station. The passenger station outside the city is a big transportation hub. You need to change trains here to go to remote places, such as Niudao and Chengshan Sunrise Peak. There is Chinese consultation at the passenger station. I suggest that you can say hello to the route, car number and Korean pronunciation here. Better write it down. If you can't understand the station announcement, you can choose the front seat and watch the Korean website display. This is generally not wrong.

Let's talk about public transportation first:

Jeju Island is divided into Jeju City and Seguipu City. Jeju City and Seogwipo City have their own local buses. From the map, Halla Mountain is located in the middle, while Jeju City is located in the upper part of the map, Setopo City is located in the lower part of the map, and the airport is in Jeju City, which is regarded as the watershed between the old Jeju City and the new Jeju City.

If you are traveling locally, I personally recommend living in Jeju City, which is close to the airport and has convenient transportation. However, if I choose Seoguipu, the airport can take bus No.600 directly to downtown Seoguipu, and then pass through Li Andong in New Jeju City and the Chinese area in Seoguipu in turn. As an important transportation route connecting the airport with New Jeju City and Seogwipo, let me first show you the stations involved in this route:

Don't worry about buying a T-coin card before you go. If you or your peers have a T-MONEY card, you can take it with you and recharge it in a convenience store. If there is no subway in Jeju Island, you can travel by bus or taxi. When taking the bus, several people can share a T-money card (within four people). If you and the people around you don't have a T-MONEY card, it doesn't matter whether you buy it or not. Unless you travel to Jeju Island by chartered bus, you can either take a taxi or take a bus. If you put all your money in when you take the bus, the driver will also help you calculate the number of people and the total price and help you get change. Next to the driver is a computer-like machine. He will press the change and come out by himself. It is recommended not to use ten thousand dollar bills, or you will find a pile of coins, which are heavier on your body.

At present, bus stop signs in English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean will be reported at the stations where key stations and scenic spots are located, and the platforms are also marked in Chinese. South Korea also drives on the right side, so if you want to read the Chinese signs on the platform conveniently, stand or sit on the right side of the carriage as much as possible when taking the bus, and it will be more convenient to look out.

Second, about the city buses in Jeju and Seogwipo, the following is an introduction:

Jeju city 1

The bus station outside Jeju is an important station to visit many scenic spots. You can take a bus from Jeju City to many scenic spots (the other is Hanna Hospital, but the bus is far less abundant than the bus stop).

In addition to the bus stop, the airport is also a must-see place for everyone to travel to Jeju Island:

In addition, there are docks, South Tower Theater in Myeongdong, Dongmen Market and Urumqi Market (traditional farmers' markets, where you can eat and drink. Dongmen Market is close to the underground commercial street, Qixing Road and Black Pork Street in the old Jeju City, and the 5th Market is close to Li Andong and Hanna Hospital in the new Jeju City, belonging to the most prosperous area in Jeju Island. Silla and Lotte Duty Free Shop are here, Silla is opposite the hotel, Lotte is upstairs in Lotte City Hotel, Han.

2. Seoguipu City

The most prosperous places in Seoguipu are World Cup Stadium, City Hall and Seoguipu Bus Station. Sekuipo Port, the occasional Japanese goods market and the like are also there, and there are buses directly to the Chinese tourist area.

Let's focus on the other lines.

The 70 1 road runs through bus stops in Jeju City and Seogwipo City, with important stops including Chengshan Port and other places. Chengshan Sunrise Peak is over there, and Niudao is also very close to Sunrise Peak. If you want to go to Manjanggul Cave, land-related headlands, water planets, etc. You have to take the 70 1 bus, but it can't go straight. You have to walk or take a taxi after getting off the bus.

Bus No.702 can also go from Jeju Bus Station to Xiguipu Bus Station. There are important scenic spots such as Hanlin Park and Chinese Community, and Cai Yao Beach is next to Hanlin Park.

7 10 is my favorite route, because Jeju University, Chengshan Sunrise Peak and Niudao Wharf are all on this line, and 7 10- 1 can still go to Shanjun. The terminal of 7 10 or 7 10- 1 is Niudao Wharf, so it is more convenient and faster to go to Niudao Wharf in Jeju than to take 70 1 at Seguipu, and it takes 70 minutes to get to the terminal pier in Jeju.

Shanjunbu, Zhucheng Folk Village and Jeju Folk Village are all on Line 720.

730 also runs through Jeju City and Seogwipo City. ECOLAND (four or five thousand won by taxi from Shanjun) and Mini Park, which everyone loves to go to, are all on this route.

740 will pass by Jeju Daoli Art Museum, LOVELAND and Magic Road are next to this stop. 740 is also one of the routes to the important climbing entrance of Hanna Mountain, or you can go near the Chinese area.

Jeju Horse Racing Park and others stand on Line 750, and you also need to take Line 750 to Xiaoxingyue. Next to the Horse Racing Park are Yayue teddy bear museum and Jeju Island. As far as I know, there are three teddy bear gyms, one in the Chinese area, one near the Chinese area, near the columnar festival belt, and one here in the horse racing park, which is the best one.

No.780 is a circular route, which can be reached by horse racing park, Chinese area, Hannah Mountain and other places. Now it is renamed as 78 1 and 782. The difference between clockwise routing and counterclockwise routing is the same as before. The clockwise routing is 78 1 and the counterclockwise routing is 782.

When tourists take a bus in Korea, they will encounter double difficulties, one is that they cannot communicate, and the other is that they have difficulty reading. We can use some auxiliary means to ensure that we can reach the station smoothly.

Pay attention to the developed and humanized public transport system in Jeju Island. The bus stop has a display screen that can tell you that the next bus passing through this station will arrive in a few minutes. I took this picture, and people who don't know Korean can see it through numbers.

Train 502 will arrive in seven minutes.

When tourists take a bus in Korea, they will encounter double difficulties, one is that they cannot communicate, and the other is that they have difficulty reading. We can use some auxiliary means to ensure that we can reach the station smoothly.

1. The bus system in Jeju Island is very developed and humanized. All bus stations have display screens, which can tell you that the next bus passing through this station will arrive in a few minutes. I took this picture, and people who don't know Korean can see it through numbers.

Train 502 will arrive in seven minutes.

When the LCD screen shows that the station you are waiting for will arrive soon, we will wait by the station, usually the bus will arrive within one minute. After getting on the bus, it is recommended to stand/sit near the car LCD screen. In some big stations, buses have been broadcast in four languages (Japanese, English, Korean and Chinese), and even in small stations, at least they will be displayed in both Korean and English. The information in the red box is the station, and the information in the black box is the station.

3. Open googlemap, I will search in advance, and I want to get off at which station. Then compare it with the information on the LCD screen. Of course, sometimes I don't reflect the Korean writing so quickly, because it looks too similar. I will also watch googlemap's route tracking. The red line is my route and the blue arrow is my position. When my terminal coincides with the blue arrow, it means I'm almost there. After several attempts, I found that route tracking is more effective.

To be on the safe side, you can show the following words to the driver when you get on the bus, and please call us when you arrive at the station (). Many drivers will remind you when you arrive at the station. Through the combination of these tools, it is convenient for tourists to get off at the right station.

If you realize that you will get off at the next stop, please click the red button in my photo, which tells the driver that someone will get off at the next stop. Many long-distance buses pass the station if no one gets off. Buses in the city are crowded, but they stop at every stop.

The following photo is the real scene of Jeju Island long-distance passenger station, which is easy to recognize. You will arrive when you see this green hollow building with a sense of design. If you want to go to a really beautiful place in Jeju Island, you must take a bus here.

The above picture shows the bus stop at Jeju International Airport, which is quite easy to recognize. They are at every gate of the airport. For example, in front of no.3 and no.4.
