5. Shuangfeng Ancient Town

Shuangfeng ancient town is located in the northwest of Taicang. It is famous for its temples, prospered by teaching, and has the reputation of "a thousand-year-old town, a land of double phoenix and bliss". This is a famous cultural town with a history of thousands of years. Legend has it that during the reign of Jinxianhe, a monk came to Taicang and saw the light at night, so he dug a stone box from the ground. After it was opened, the two turtles in the stone box turned into phoenixes and soared into the sky. Then a temple was built here, hence the name Shuangfeng.
