Why is it difficult for Wuhan to retain college students?

Wuhan is a national central city, located in the national geographic center, known as the "overpass of the motherland", with very convenient transportation. Wuhan has been a city of heroes since ancient times. A sudden epidemic in 2020 did not make this city of heroes fall.

As a native of Hubei, I have a feeling that I can't give up the city of Wuhan. When I was studying in Wuhan, I always felt that Wuhan was nothing but ordinary. When I graduate, I can't wait to leave at once. Most of the students rushed to the southeast of the motherland (Jiangsu and Zhejiang-Guangdong area), which is the so-called "peacock flying southeast". Nearly 6,543,800 people graduate from Wuhan every year, but the proportion who stay in Wuhan is 30 million. The main reasons are as follows:

(1) The business environment is not very friendly, and the service consciousness of "shop assistants" in functional departments is not strong. Eating and taking cards often happens. If you do one thing, you have to find a relationship. If it doesn't matter, things are always so bad that many enterprises have landed in Wuhan. But in recent years, this phenomenon has been significantly improved. Government departments have gradually realized this problem and carried out drastic reforms and services.

(2) There are not many excellent private enterprises and foreign-funded enterprises. Due to historical reasons, compared with other cities, there are many enterprises with national prefix in Wu Hanyou. However, state-owned enterprises generally hold the concept that camels are bigger than horses, lacking enterprising spirit, and employees also hold a comfortable attitude of providing for the elderly. Their natural competitiveness is unmatched by some private enterprises. Such enterprises naturally lack enough attraction for young college students, and college students have lived and studied in Wuhan for four years or more. ...

(3) The salary is not attractive enough. The same job and the same labor intensity, the salary in Wuhan is less than half or even one third of that in Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Although Wuhan also has high salaries, it is still a minority. The income of most working-class people is still relatively low. Wuhan's business is very developed, and its consumption level is comparable to that of the North, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Only one thing, the housing prices in Wuhan are relatively friendly compared with those in the north, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Although housing prices in Wuhan have been rising in recent years, with the passage of time, the continuous construction of the city and the advantages of housing prices, I think it will not be long before there will be great advantages, and even a large number of college students will leave Wuhan.

(4) Overtime culture prevails. I think the phenomenon of "996" is very common now, and a lot of overtime is normal overtime, that is, unconditional free overtime. Although some units will pay overtime, it still doesn't match their labor intensity. A relative of mine is doing software development in a fairly large IT company in Guanggu East. He runs from his home in the financial port to the company at 7: 20 every morning, and goes home at 1 1 30 in the evening. He works six days a week, and sometimes he goes to the company to work overtime on Sundays, which is basically in an endless state and can't be taken care of at home. I thought that the overtime pay should be considerable for such high-intensity overtime work, and the result was very unexpected. One month's overtime pay is less than 1500. If I don't work overtime, I will be told by the project manager. As soon as I talked about it, I lost my job. For middle-aged people with families, they dare not lose their jobs easily. Although I am reluctant, I have no choice but to bite the bullet and continue to work overtime. There are also 996 in Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. However, employees have paid and received corresponding rewards. In Wuhan, most of them can't get full salary, and they also let young college students leave Wuhan. ....

Most graduates from Wuhan flow to Guangdong and Shanghai every year. In the final analysis, the wage level in Wuhan is far from that in coastal cities.
