I don't know how to maintain the new carpet just laid in the hotel. If it is cleaned regularly, how often? How to operate?
Carpets are widely used in restaurants, conference rooms and other places because of their beauty, safety, comfort, cleanliness, sound absorption and heat preservation. Because of the different fibers and structures, carpets are different in price, usable area, beauty, practicality and durability.
According to the different textile fiber materials, there are three kinds of carpets commonly used in hotels, namely chemical fiber carpet, natural fiber carpet (commonly used in hotels) and blended carpet.
Star-rated hotels generally do not lay low-grade chemical fiber carpets except for some public areas that are prone to water accumulation. In principle, star-rated hotels should choose blended carpets with a high proportion of wool fibers.
The renewal cycle of carpets is generally 5-7 years, but this does not mean that carpet maintenance can be ignored. If it is not well maintained, it will be unrecognizable within a year or two; If it is well maintained, it will still be beautiful and soft as new after five years, so in the operation of the hotel, the maintenance of carpets must not be taken lightly.
Routine cleaning and maintenance procedures for carpets are as follows:
1, vacuum
Thoroughly vacuuming is the most important job in maintaining carpets. Vacuum can not only remove the dust accumulated on the carpet surface, but also absorb the gravel hidden deep in the bottom of the carpet to prevent them from cutting off the fibers at the fiber roots of the carpet due to friction when people come and go. Moreover, frequent vacuuming can reduce the times of cleaning carpets, restore the elasticity and softness of carpets and prolong their service life.
(1) The guest room area generally requires carpet vacuuming once a day; Areas with frequent guest activities (such as halls, restaurants, shopping malls, etc. ) Not less than three times a day. Ordinary vacuum cleaners can be used at ordinary times, but vertical vacuum cleaners should be used regularly to completely suck away impurities and gravel. The root of the carpet;
(2) Before vacuuming, remove large garbage and sharp objects in the area;
(3) When vacuuming, you should choose appropriate vacuum cleaner accessories to vacuum the corners and walls of rooms or public areas;
(4) vacuumizing should be carried out from the inside out in a certain order to avoid omission;
(5) Vacuum should be pushed and pulled. When pushing, the hair should be reversed, and when pulling, it should be smooth, so as to ensure that the sucked carpet fibers fall in the same direction, and the carpet will not appear when stepping on it.
2, in addition to stains
In daily work, if stains are found on the carpet, they should be removed immediately. Once a stain is found, it must be removed in time. Different stains should be removed in different ways. Otherwise, after infiltration and diffusion, it will leave stains that can never be removed. The following is a brief introduction to the treatment methods of several common carpet stains in hotels:
(1) Butter Scrape all the butter off the carpet, wipe it with a sponge dipped in dry cleaning agent, and then suck it dry. If the cleaning is not thorough, it can be repeated until it is completely removed;
(2) Cream: First, use a rag, paper towel, etc. to completely absorb the cream on the carpet. Then wipe it with sponge dipped in detergent solution, and then wipe it with sponge dipped in warm water to absorb water.
(3) Coffee, cola, juice and tea. Absorb coffee, cola juice, fruit juice and tea on the carpet with paper towels and rags, then wipe it with sponge dipped in detergent solution, then wipe it with paper towels and rags, and then wipe it with sponge dipped in water in the same way. If the stain is dyed before, it can be removed with a special solution containing a small amount of bleach. After absorbing the solution, wipe it with a sponge dipped in water to absorb the water. If it is a tea stain, finally wipe it with a sponge dipped in a special weak acid solution to absorb the solution;
(4) Vomiting When vomit is found on the carpet, it should be scraped off and sucked dry immediately, wiped with a sponge dipped in detergent solution, sucked dry with a rag or paper towel, then wiped with a sponge dipped in water, and then sucked dry;
(5) Carefully scrape the chewing gum thoroughly with a knife (if the chewing gum has become hard and caked, it is best to freeze it with ice first) to make it brittle, scrape it with a knife, wipe it with a sponge dipped in carpet dry cleaning agent, and then suck it dry with a rag. If there is a lot of chewing gum, repeat it in the same way or remove it with a special chewing gum spray;
(6) Lipstick: First, gently scrape off the lipstick residue on the carpet with a knife, wipe it with a sponge dipped in acetic acid or detergent solution, and then dry the solution with a rag. If a detergent is used, wipe it with a sponge dipped in water, and then absorb the water;
(7) Nail Polish If you find that the guest accidentally touches the nail polish on the carpet, you should first scrape it off with a knife, then wipe it with a sponge dipped in acetic acid or nail polish remover, dry it with a rag, and then wipe it with a sponge dipped in dry lotion. If there is a lot of nail polish, you can repeat the above cleaning method.
(8) The blood stains on the bloodstained carpet can be wiped with a paper towel and then wiped with a sponge dipped in cold water. After drying, it can be wiped with a sponge dipped in detergent solution, then dried with a rag, and finally wiped with a sponge dipped in water to dry the water;
(9) For the burnt carpet damaged by burning fireworks, carefully cut the burnt end of the tufts in the carpet to cover it, and then wipe it with a sponge dipped in detergent. For carpets with short carpets, sandpaper can sometimes be used to wipe them to eliminate the traces of burning.
wash
Carpet cleaning is a highly technical job, and hotels should be equipped with full-time carpet cleaners, who can operate independently after strict training. Four-star hotels require that carpets be thoroughly cleaned for no more than half a year. Usually, the washing time should be flexibly controlled according to the frequency of carpet use. The procedure for cleaning carpets is as follows:
(1) Before cleaning the carpet, clean or remove the furniture and articles on the carpet in the waiting area;
(2) thoroughly vacuuming the carpet to be washed;
(3) Check whether there are stains on the carpet, and if there are, remove the stains first;
(4) Check whether the cleaning agent meets the requirements, and avoid using cleaning agents containing oil or residues to avoid accumulation of oil stains. The test method is to evaporate the cleaning agent to see if the residue is absorbed by the vacuum cleaner. If it can be absorbed, it means that the detergent will not accumulate dirt. You can also check the quality of the detergent by using the test method on the rug.
(5) After preparing the cleaning agent according to the instructions, put it into the liquid container of the carpet cleaning machine;
(6) When cleaning the carpet, operate in strict accordance with the instructions or requirements of the machine, and design the cleaning route from the inside out to avoid omission;
(7) In wet washing, after the carpet cleaning machine is completed, the carpet is sucked with a water absorber to clean the sewage, so that the carpet is easy to dry;
(8) Brush the carpet fiber with a brush to make it elastic;
(9) No ruts or footprints shall be left before the carpet is dried;
(10) Adjust the air volume of the air conditioner in the clean area to the maximum or use a hair dryer to make the ventilated carpet easy to dry;
(1 1) After the carpet is dried, vacuum thoroughly with a vacuum cleaner to remove residues and straighten out the backward direction of carpet fibers;
(12) Restore the thoroughly cleaned area to its original state.
