With the design concept of "Sailing the Yellow River, the boat of art", the National Grand Theatre with a total construction area of about127,700 square meters and a total investment of about 2.067 billion yuan was officially opened in 2020. It is the only efficient, professional and practical first-class theater in Henan Province, and it is also one of the few theaters in China that integrates "song and dance theater, concert hall, opera hall and multi-function hall". Zhengzhou Grand Theatre is located in the east of Huizhi Road, west of Song Xue Road, south of District South Road and north of Media Road in Xiliuhu Street, Zhongyuan District, covering an area of 50,000 square meters, with a total construction area of 6.5438+0.2 million square meters. Zhengzhou Grand Theatre is a public cultural service area in Zhengzhou City, located in the east of Huizhi Road, west of Song Xue Road, south of District South Road and north of Media Road in Xiliuhu Street of Central Plains. It covers an area of 50942m2, with a total construction area of 125965m2, of which the aboveground construction area is 62578m2 and the underground construction area is 63387m2. This design will inherit Zhengzhou's profound cultural heritage, tap its huge urban potential, and strive to build a culturally confident, professional, efficient, open and green "sustainable" theater for this axis city of China. "The sail shadow of the Yellow River, the source of Central Plains art, the boat of art, sings the China chapter of Kyushu civilization." As the birthplace of Chinese culture, Zhengzhou has a long history and profound connotation. Therefore, Zhengzhou Grand Theatre, with the design concept of "the shadow of the Yellow River, an art ship", depicts an ancient ship carrying civilization, sailing on the Yellow River and crossing the sky and waves. Architecture is like a fixed scene of a drama that devours mountains and rivers. It shows Zhengzhou's cultural axis position with magnificent spiritual symbols and unique architectural image of the Central Plains. The whole building is surrounded by six huge sails, which spread in the wind. It is located on a 4.5-meter-high platform with unique momentum. Six sails are wrapped in red artificial stone, which is the traditional color of China and full of tension during the day. As night falls, the bright lights in the room are exposed through the glass curtain, and the "sail" becomes a huge screen. If the audience's activities in the building are looming, it highlights the artistic characteristics of the Grand Theatre as a performance building.
