What's the difference between Mutianyu Great Wall and Badaling Great Wall?

Badaling is better. It is the most well-preserved and representative section of the Great Wall in the Ming Dynasty. It is the essence of the Great Wall of Ming Dynasty with unique scenery. The differences are as follows:

Badaling Great Wall is closer to Beijing than it is. Daling Great Wall is located in Yanqing County, Beijing. If you want to visit, I suggest you leave early. It takes about 3 hours to get to the scenic spot by car in the urban area, and then it takes 20 minutes to walk to the gate of the scenic spot to queue up to climb the Great Wall. Mutianyu Great Wall (ticket) is far from Beijing, and there are few direct cars, so many people get off at Huairou Railway Station. After getting off the bus, there will be many black cars and chartered cars from 50 yuan, and it takes about 20 minutes to get to Mutianyu Scenic Area.

Badaling Great Wall is more mature, with more convenient transportation and complete supporting facilities. But the other side of the coin is that there are relatively many tourists here, which will have some influence on viewing, taking pictures and group activities. Mutianyu Great Wall has fewer tourists and more freedom of activities. There is no systematic development here, and the natural scenery is relatively more primitive. But the traffic is not very convenient.

Beijing North Railway Station has an internal combustion S2 EMU bound for Badaling, and the ride environment is better than that of the bus. Second-class price 12 yuan, 50% off bus card. It takes more than an hour to reach Badaling Station, and get off about 700 meters to reach the entrance of Badaling Great Wall. According to different seasons, there are five or six round-trip trains every day (there are additional trains on weekends in peak season), so you can buy round-trip train tickets directly at Beijing North Railway Station.

This line runs on the S2 line of the urban railway, and it is also the first China-Zhangjing railway independently designed and built by Zhan Tianyou. During the trip, you can enjoy the famous Guangou Scenic Area, Juyongguan Great Wall and the famous herringbone railway in the century-old Beijing-Zhangjiakou Railway. On the way back, you can also see Zhan Tianyou's tomb and statue in the distance at Qinglongqiao Station.
