He was born in Dongchangfangkou, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province on the third day of the eighth lunar month in 1881. His surname was Zhou, his given name was Shuren, his courtesy name was Hencai, and his nickname was Zhangshou. When he was thirty-eight years old, he began to use Lu Xun as his pen name.
Entered the school in 1886, and started to recite "Jianlue" from his uncle Tamada.
In November 1888, my sister Duan was born and died in infancy. She was weeping secretly in the corner of the room. When her mother asked why, she replied, "It's my sister." In March 1893, my grandfather Jiefu Gong Dingyou returned from Beijing. In the autumn, Jie Fugong was imprisoned for some reason, and his father-in-law Yigong was seriously ill again. The family fortune was ruined, and he had been in and out of quality shops and pharmacies for many years.
On the sixth day of September, 1896, my father Boyi died at the age of thirty-seven. After his father died, the family situation became increasingly difficult.

In September 1911, Shaoxing was restored and he served as the principal of Shaoxing Normal School. In winter, he wrote his first trial novel "Nostalgia", which was published in the first volume of "Novel Monthly" in the second year of reading.
On January 1, 1912, the provisional government was established in Nanjing. At the request of Cai Yuanpei, the Director-General of Education, he served as the chief of the first section of the Social Education Department of the Ministry of Education.
