Encounter a Japanese buffet hotel!

Recently, I always think of the days when I only traveled to Japan.

/kloc-in April of 0/5, after half a year's preparation, I finally started a six-day self-help tour in Japan with two girlfriends.

This trip to Japan is very substantial, and there are many memorable places, but what impressed me the most are two things: first, I booked a self-help family hotel, but I didn't know I made many mistakes; Second, I took a long-distance night bus from Kyoto to Tokyo.

Self-help homestays may not be familiar to many people. I didn't know until this time. How to "help yourself"? You have to do everything yourself, including checking in, and no waiter will receive you. However, this hotel does not have any special tips. Like other hotels, I made a reservation.

So, when we found the store and found the door locked, we were all dumbfounded.

The situation at that time was that the three of us braved the falling rain and dragged the boxes that became heavy after purchasing for half an hour. On a small road where cars may not get in, an alley more than one meter wide and more than ten meters deep on the side of the road finally saw a small building with the hotel name written on A4 paper. But in any case, compared with people who have been looking for two hours, we have only looked for half an hour, which is already very powerful. So, we couldn't help cheering, but immediately, we found a serious problem: the door was closed and locked by a password lock. At that time, I felt a corner of my heart collapsed, but it was not on the verge of collapse.

Then, in the face of this situation, we immediately launched a series of countermeasures: calling to ask, asking people nearby, waiting, and if we really can't stay, looking for alternative hotels nearby to avoid sleeping on the streets.

First of all, I called to ask because I didn't have any homework. Maybe I panicked and didn't get it done. In short, I just don't know how to broadcast Japanese numbers in Japan with domestic numbers. There is no result in tossing a coin.

Then I asked the people nearby, and an enthusiastic old lady asked around for me, but the Japanese never cared much about their neighbors, especially the rented houses. So no one knows.

As for waiting, because there is a precedent that two hotels require to check in after 3 pm, considering that we may come too early and didn't open the door, we chose to have lunch first, play the afternoon trip and see the situation in the afternoon.

And looking for an alternative hotel, we just glanced at it and didn't really put it into action, because we haven't decided that we really can't stay.

In this way, I played all the way until 6 pm, when we were eating somewhere else, I received a strange English email. I looked at it and it was sent to me by this hotel, telling me to use the password in the email to go to the hotel and open the password lock to check in.

I was shocked, surprised and a little angry at that time. So this hotel is like this! But there is no explanation on the web page! Didn't everyone say check-in at three o'clock? Why didn't you email me until 6 o'clock? But after a burst of emotion, it was settled. After all, like a treasure hunt, we have got the key to open the treasure chest.

So, we ate quietly and went back to the hotel. However, however, I still think too naive! There are bigger difficulties waiting for us!

It was already dark when I walked to the door. I dialed the number on the password lock according to the password on the email, and the expected click did not appear. This password can't be unlocked at all. It's incredible!

In fact, I'm not in a hurry to say that I can't get through at noon, but I really panicked at this time! To tell the truth, at this time, my heart completely collapsed. I doubted for more than ten times whether I understood English mail, and two friends repeatedly appraised it. After thinking about it, there is no other meaning. I can only try the password again and again, but in the end, the lock doesn't move at all.

While I was still trying to find out what went wrong and what to do next, my friends had already started looking for another hotel. After all, there are three unarmed foreign women in a dark alley, which is no joke.

But I haven't given up yet. I choose to ask for help because I am the only one who can speak Japanese. I found two handsome guys working in a small building in uniforms and gave them a general description of our current situation. I want them to call me and ask. One of the handsome guys agreed! But he said he couldn't help us before work. Fortunately, there are only ten minutes before he gets off work at 9: 00, so wait.

Finally, when he got off work, I told him the details and showed him the English email. But he said he didn't understand ... and then he paid me a visit by the way, saying that I knew Japanese and English, and it was amazing to travel abroad alone. (Ahem, don't forget narcissism at this time. )

Later, he helped me to make a phone call with the hotel staff, came to the hotel door with us, and opened the lock according to the instructions of the other party, but the lock still did not move.

Then, he told me that the person in charge of the hotel would open the door in half an hour and let us wait at the door. So, I thanked him and watched him leave.

Finally I waited for the person in charge of the hotel. This person is actually someone we met in an alley when we were looking for a hotel during the day, but we didn't know him at that time and we couldn't hold him and ask! At the moment we saw him, our mood, which had been tossing for a day, collapsed even more!

Then he went to unlock the lock and found that the original password was wrong!

Wrong password!

Wrong!

No!

this ...

We were stunned by this answer. We have been tossing about this problem for a long time, but we haven't considered it at all. We just consider whether we have made a mistake. After all, this is Japan, which is famous for its rigor and meticulousness! ! Well, my three views immediately broke all over the floor.

However, with a series of apologies from the person in charge, we finally checked into the hotel before midnight on 12. In order to make up for us, he gave us the key to the gate. The next day, he checked that it was unoccupied and allowed us to use it until the next night 10.

And then I was naive.

The next day, we didn't clean up anything, so we spent a leisurely day, ready to go to the hotel to clean up and take a bath. I had planned to take a bath before checking out, because I had to take the night bus that day and couldn't take a bath. ) But as soon as I got there, I suddenly found two blondes standing in front of the hotel, dragging their luggage and looking at us from time to time with slight contempt in their eyes. ...

Then, another strange uncle arranged our things in it, and some of them had been thrown out of the door.

Hmm (expressing hesitation, etc.) ... At that time, we were angry and heartbroken: on the one hand, our unruly China people had a worse image in the eyes of foreigners, but we couldn't go up and explain to them, which was both aggrieved and helpless; On the other hand, I am speechless about the management of this hotel, and I just want to go directly to the bad reviews. If I have time, I'd like to argue with him, but I don't care because I have to catch the night bus.

In this way, the three men left with their luggage, ended their two-day trip to Kyoto and embarked on a journey to Tokyo.

Such an unpleasant travel experience, although the twists and turns at that time surprised and angered us, now it seems very interesting and a bit thrilling, and it also brings us closer to the original Japanese folk life: the same life, they also have enthusiasm and indifference; There are also rigor and negligence.

The novel experience of the self-service hotel refreshed my world view.

As for the night bus, we'll break it down next time because of space constraints.
